I love love love pizza sauce, and all other tomato based products for that matter, but I'm having to avoid them because of some acid reflux issues. So tonight I made a pizza that turned out amazingly good. In place of pizza sauce, made a garlic sauce out of melted earth balance, soymilk, two cloves of garlic, and some flour as a thickener. I slathered it on the crust, then topped with some grated vegan gourmet mozzarella, red onions, spinach, and black olives. It was soooooo good. I just had to share.

I am going to try that! Can't have too much garlic and I have one kid who HATES tomato sauce. I might even try a variation for pasta.

I do one of two things for the crust. If I have time, I will make the pizza crust recipe from How It All Vegan. When I'm in more of a hurry, I pick up a pre made dough ball from Whole Foods, which is vegan. The second is my super easy, lazy way.

Sounds just like the mccain (I think it was) garlic fingers that I used to eat (which are like cheesy garlic bread on a pizza crust).

That sounds really good- a good sub for this white pizza this place near my house makes. It's basically the same idea- garlic sauce and mozzarella. yummy

I've used the vegan gourmet monterey jack on pizza before, and it's just as good. I wouldn't recommend the nacho one, though.

Heh...can't find that one either. The only one available is cheddar. I think I'll give the hfs a call to see if they'll get jack. I love it on pizza.

What's 'earth balance'? I'm from Aus, so do we get that here? lol

Or am I just all non knowing of things?

Sounds incredible yummy though, I must say!

I tried this the other night and it was so good! I didn't have any Vegan gourmet though, so I made a "cheeze" sauce. I put broccoli, onion and olives on it too! Eric ate more than 1/2 the pizza!
