Kroger brand pinto beans

Are these vegan friendly? I know some canned food can have added ingredients that aren't vegan. Do canned beans sometimes have added things like pork or beef fat that aren't put on the ingredient list?

Pork or beef fat would be shown on the ingredient list. Other names for animal fat are lard and tallow.

However, some brands of kidney beans contain added sugar, if that is something that is important to you. But it will be listed in the ingredient list.

If you're concerned about additives in canned pinto beans, it's really easy to buy a bag of dry pinto beans and prepare them on the stove. Here is a really easy video that shows how to do this. This fellow isn't a vegetarian (and it looks like he needs to improve his diet), but he does a great job in this video.

The instructions begin at minute 1:36.

I don't think I've ever seen pinto beans with any nasty stuff added. The two to be careful of are baked beans (each can will have a piece of pork/pork fat added to it) and refried beans (lard is commonly added).
