The North American diet defined
 

New to this vegan dietary lifestyle and got to thinking about what is the common North American diet?
Basically for breakfast lunch and supper its greasy meat wrapped in bread smothered with cheese with a side of deep fried potatoes accompanied by a huge mug of fizzy sugar water. Any wonder why theres an epidemic of obesity,diabetes,cancer,heart attacks and strokes.As a victim of this dietary lifestyle at 66yrs old i'm 100lbs overweight,diabetic and have mobility issues.
I can thank Dr Joel Fuhrman for showing me the error of my ways, i just hope its not too late to recover some semblance of good health..

I have a friend who can't eat a meal without a diet coke.

Needless to say, overweight...

I can only speak for the US, but there are myriad socioeconomic issues tied to the eating habits you describe. Just like liquor stores and shady pay day loan places, there are fast food restaurants on every corner. A lot of things that are bad for you are cheap and readily available. And every time a politician tries to emphasize nutrition education they get branded as a fascist. People should be allowed to kill themselves with garbage food. It's in the Constitution! Or something. 'Murica.
