Okay, so I'm not engaged yet! I just want to know -

For those of you who are married, did you have a vegan cake at your wedding? If so, where did you get it? Who made it? Do you have recipes?

I think my mom and I will (attempt to) do the catering. If the wedding is in the UK (who knows!? ), I know of some London-based vegan caterers who can do vegan cake... but what do you all suggest?

All information is welcome!

I've actually got my february issue of VegNews right here, which also happene to be the wedding issue Do you think you could either put down a big city you are close to or Pm and I'll look it up for you? Right now I'm seeing a few in the blatimore and DC area, two in San Diego and theres a whole bunch of websites (like half a page ) listed for DC, San Diego, Iowa (surprising...), Utah, vermont, LA and Virginia

I rather easily found a baker who could make a vegan wedding cake with various fillings and with a vegan buttercream frostin or a vegan fondant.

I found her by searching the internet and calling nearby bakers and asking them... because the bakers in the area know of other bakers in the area.

Well, I live in Greensboro, NC, but the wedding is likely to be in the UK. So... I don't know exactly yet. We still have a long time to go, really. I was just really curious.

My wedding is in October, and I am going through a local baker who offers several vegan options. There are several bakers in my area who offer vegan cakes, actually. I found a few of them by doing an internet search. It was much easier to find a vegan cake than it was to find someone to cater the food all vegan!

My sister had a vegan wedding cake. My mom made it. It was a carrot cake with white frosting. I might be able to get the recipe for you if you like. I'm attaching a picture of it.

A friend had her cake made at the health food store. (The HFS has a small restaurant.) So that might be an option to check into.

I just started a new vegetarian wedding site where you can go and look up catering services in your area as well as vegan bakeries and even vegan wedding dresses. We also have an online chat where go thru the steps of organizing your wedding.

The site is www.vegetarianwedding.net
