Hey guys!

I'm making a vegan ice-cream cake tomorrow and I need a bit of advice from someone who has done it before!

I'm going to mix chai flavouring into the ice-cream with a blender and press it into a pan that has been lined with an oreo-crumb crust. Then, add an oreo-fudgy middle, and another layer of icecream. Is there anything I should know about making an ice-cream cake at home, any funny tricks or tips to make it turn out better??

It will have about 5-6 hours in the deep freeze before we eat it.

Thanks!

I've wanted to try out an ice cream cake for a while but have been a little nervous of the results. Hopefully some others will have suggestions and I can try it for Valentine's Day.

yum!

are you going to use cake too or just try it out of all ice cream?

the recipes ive used before have both cake and ice cream, usually a cake base with ice cream on top or in the middle. i use the betty crocker dome cake pans for ice cream cakes, i think they sell it at target, it helps a lot!

Alright, I made the cake and it was an absolute success! I was worried it would be too sweet but it was fabulous. Everybody loved it

I didn't use any actual cake. Just oreo crumb crust, then soy ice-cream blended with chai and oreos, a layer of oreo and fudge, then the rest of the ice-cream. It was so so so good!

I used to make ice cream cakes when I was omni and would mix 1 block of cream cheese in with the ice cream and then pour it on top of an oreo, graham cracker, or brownie crust. You couldn't really taste the cream cheese, but I guess it just made for a richer texture. I have never tried making a vegan ice cream cake though, so not sure if that transfers with vegan cream cheese, but I don't see why not.

Oh man I want a vegan ice cream cake now! Thanks, PJ. Maybe I can convince myself that nothing has calories until after the holidays. Yeah, that's it.
