Not quite sure if this is in the right spot, but let's just give it a go.

Omni dad recently got diagnosed with Lupus and a whole range of related diseases. Anywho, after doing a bit of research on the appropriate nutrition of someone in his shoes, I came to realize the majority of my results showed vegetarianism would be a huge improvement to his health. I can't ephasize HUGE! I think he may have somewhat understood where I was going but needless to say was a bit reluctant to change his diet.

What are some good ways I could emphasize vegetarianism? Some good things to say, good foods to make to push him toward vegetarianism??

Any help on this situation is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It may be easier to suggest he try some 'meatless meals' instead of pushing him to embrace being a vegetarian. There is a stigma attached to declaring yourself a vegetarian that some people may struggle with. Instead, why not find some meat-free recipes and foods that you think he would like and make them for him 'to try'. Or encourage him to eat meat-free meals throughout the week and then he can 'splurge' on a meat meal on the weekend.

Thank you! I thought to try just as you suggested, especially the option to eat meat on the weekends. He really has thought about it but I do think the vegetarian stigma may be a bit much. He does not have the same compassion, plus he said he -shudders- 'likes meat'....GROSS!

Well when you can't eat 27 meats, your options are kinda limited. Does anyone else have any helpful information to help persuade my father toward vegetarianism??

Thanks!

I was doing my own thing quietly and YOU are the one who created this post trying to make a big deal out of it. Keep flaming the fire. That must be what you want.
