I am a new forum member, even though I have been lurking and reading for a few months. Needless to say, I love it.
I went vegetarian about a year ago, well actually that was about my 3rd or 4th time of swearing off meat, but it never lasted more than 6 weeks before. This time it stuck.
It stuck so well, that I became vegan a few months ago, cold tofu, even though I thought I would have to ease into it.
I live in Johnson City, Tennessee and I am 38 years old. Definitely not a "kennyBOY" but even though I continue to get older, I hope I NEVER grow up.
I hang around online over at the PPK
a lot. I try to spread the gospel around here at home whenever I can. I hand out brochures on occassion, I write letters to the editor, I piss my friends off on occassion, etc.
I am really thankful for the forums and all of the other vegan resources that I have discovered online. When I was first considering the change, I was like "How in the hell can I do this?". All of the info available online really helps.
Now that I've gotten into the swing of things and have become accustomed to cooking my tail off every day, I even started my own website to help show new up and coming vegans that there are TONS of food options available besides meat & cheese.
One of my great inspirations was Vegan Lunch Box
. I decided I wanted to do something similar, but show what an adult vegan might pack for lunch every day before they head off to work. So I started Vegan Lunchtime Porn
If it weren't for online resources like Veggie Boards, the PPK and Vegan Lunch Box, I might have never known how simple it can really be to live a cruelty-free life and I might not have ever made it here.
I am glad I here now at this point in my life. And I want to do everything I can to help others wake up and see that their life doesn't have to require the abuse, torture and murder of innocent beings.
