Hello everyone, I recently became a vegetarian, (4 - 4 - 03) and I'm loving it!! I started doing lots of research and discovered I needed meat like I needed (another) hole in my head! I hadn't been eating much meat lately anyway, so I gave it up overnight, no problem. I've always loved animals, and the last thing I want is for the critters to suffer for NO reason at all, not to mention the environmental reasons behind my decision.... But I guess I'm preaching to the converted.
Anyway, I did some veg surfing and came across these boards, and just HAD to join, because it's really hard to find people I can relate to, you know? I've had quite a hard time meeting anyone who believes a fish is a animal. LOL. Go figure.
hello grain _girl! I've been a vegetarian for about 18 years and a vegan for almost 13. i complete understand the need to be around others who "get it". me: i'm a vegan which means i'm a vegatarian that doesn't consume milk or eggs, etc. them: so do you eat fish? so annoying.
i've been veggie for 2 years now. Best thing i ever did. looking back i don't know how i ever ate flesh, i guess i was just conditioned to eat it from childhood. Finally i got the message though Even if you do miss meat there are so many meat substitutes out there that there is really no excuse.
