Hello everyone, I recently became a vegetarian, (4 - 4 - 03) and I'm loving it!! I started doing lots of research and discovered I needed meat like I needed (another) hole in my head! I hadn't been eating much meat lately anyway, so I gave it up overnight, no problem. I've always loved animals, and the last thing I want is for the critters to suffer for NO reason at all, not to mention the environmental reasons behind my decision.... But I guess I'm preaching to the converted.

Anyway, I did some veg surfing and came across these boards, and just HAD to join, because it's really hard to find people I can relate to, you know? I've had quite a hard time meeting anyone who believes a fish is a animal. LOL. Go figure.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!!

See ya!

welcome.

Hi grain-girl, I'm still a relative newbie to the veg world... about 4 months. It is much easier once you find like-minded people...

But fish *is* a vegetable, silly girl.

Ahem. Yes, it is nice to be amongst those who can tell the difference between plants and animals. Glad you passed the entrance exam.

Have fun posting!

Thanks for your welcomes guys! It's nice to find people I can relate to! You mean there is a difference between a fish and a carrot? What a concept!

Hi grain_girl

Personally, I tend to like multigrain foods. All unrefined grains are good.

Yep! The only male in my life is orange and furry, and for some reason, I just don't think that counts.

I think half the time I go out to a restaurant and ask about their vegetarian selection, they ask me if I eat fish - which is particularly horrible to me since I'm very allergic!

Anyway, welcome grain_girl

i've been veggie for 2 years now. Best thing i ever did. looking back i don't know how i ever ate flesh, i guess i was just conditioned to eat it from childhood. Finally i got the message though Even if you do miss meat there are so many meat substitutes out there that there is really no excuse.

Save the animals and save your health!
