Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hello and what a great board this is. I have been borderline vegetarian (ie eat meat if its shoved in front of me) for about a year now. I recently decided to take the step to being fully vegan after reading the book "the vegan sourcebook". It's given me so much motivation to change my lifestyle and I only wish I'd found it sooner. I have just done my weekly shop and bought all vegan food and I think the only things I have left in my cupboard that I shouldnt are a small block of cheese, 2 eggs and a jar of chicken stock, so hopefully the transition should be reasonably smooth.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

once you decide, being vegan is easy! sounds like you've made up your mind. maybe give the cheese, eggs and chicken stock to your neighbour... xxx

*waves back* Thanks everyone

I don't think I will give away my non-vegan stuff. I live on campus and my roommates already think I'm strange enough without giving away half finished packs of food

I don't actually plan on telling anyone straight out that I am vegan either. My best friend already thinks theres something wrong with me that I won't eat KFC or maccas or any of that other gross stuff...even though I've never had it in the last 3 years she's known me. Sheesh, some people think it's strange that a 20 yo uni student would rather eat well, sleep well and be fit rather than shovel as much deep fried corporate rubbish down their throats and laze around all day doing nothing much. Heh, or maybe I just don't fit their activist stereotype :P
