Greetings from the middle of the UK!

Hi, I'm dropscone. Been vegan coming up for 18 years, live in the Midlands in the UK. I joined this forum a few months ago, but only just got around to reading much.

The area I live in is great for vegetarians and vegans, and I love cooking (and eating!)

So we meet again dropscone! lol. I am Robinwomb on the other forums we have met on but here go by Naturebound. So great to see you here! I have met SO MANY online friends from the UK who are vegans, even have a few on Facebook. And most of them are long termers too. I'd love to visit the UK someday. Hope you like it here!

Well, we've got a wholefood co-op and several great indie healthfood shops as well as a couple of Holland and Barratts, as well as large branches of all the major supermarkets dotted around the outskirts of the centre.

There are lots of diverse ethnicities of people living here so ingredients which some people would find difficult to purchase are easily and cheaply available, and there are lots of pure vegetarian Indian restaurants, including a great place about 10 minutes walk from my house that makes delicious and very affordable South Indian food. There's a Buddhist centre with a veg*n cafe, and a trad 70s style veg restaurant, as well as lots of omni restaurants who know what a vegan is (and sometimes offer separate menus), and there's an active veg group who organise lots of events.

It does indeed sound great, lucky you. I'm still discovering all the healthy stuff London has to offer.
