I'm new to vegetarianism. I'm glad I found this site. I've read alot of the posts and am glad to finally find an intelligent forum, where people are willing to hold actual conversations instead of just calling each other names. Thanks VB
I live in Southeast,Texas and have only been a vegetarian since Thanksgiving 2003. Although my friends and family are supportive, they still roll there eyes
when they remember I don't eat meat and then they smile that little "your one of them" grins--the usual response I get when someone I haven't seen in a while finds out I stopped eating meat.
When ever I 'm feeling alone in this or just need info, I can come on here and read all the positive things people have posted.
I also didn't realize there were sooo many vegans in the smaller towns in Texas, good job...I know it must be difficult to find good vegan food. Being a vegetarian I can always just order broccolli
or some salad or at least a potato at restaraunts although this is unusually difficult at the seafood places around here.
And living along the coast ..let me tell you everybody wants to go to eat seafood. I didn't like seafood even back when I did eat meat.
So ..are any of you near Houston? It would be great to hear from you.
