New to this board, not so new to vegetarianism. I'm a married 45 year old male with two young kids. I didn't really come into it from the typical compassion perspective. It's actually because I'm a gout patient, and animal protein and high-fat dairy is bad for me. What's interesting is that over time, I've really lost the desire for meats. I used to really love pork BBQ, but now it all grosses me out a bit. I still miss fish a lot.
I eat lots of hummus these days. Trying to quit cheese now, so I'm drifting toward "vegan + eggs." This will be hard, as my wife and kids really enjoy pizza. Always on the lookout for the next great veggie burger, both frozen/prepared and recipes.
Looking forward to some valuable sharing and learning here!
When I say "gout patient" I had to reply! I just ordered more Rooibos tea, or red bush teasan, which I drink a lot!
I saw a review that said drinking this helped her gout. I knew it has a lot of antioxidants, free of tannins, no caffiene, so I checked into it.
There's a lot of info if you search
Here's one site, with links to gout research-
Anyway, Glad to have you here! If you haven't tried red tea, it's very nice both hot and cold. I just let it steep right in the fridge with the bags!
