My name's Cara, I'm a junior in high school and 17 years old. I'm really interested in going vegetarian! My best friend is a vegetarian but no one in my family is which presents a little bit of a problem since my mom cooks my dinners, so I would have to make all my own food. I'm just looking for advice and new friends!

Welcome and good luck. :-)

What are your reasons, ethical, health?

Both ethical and health! I just feel like there's no bad outcome if I'm a vegetarian whereas if I'm not, not only does it hurt animals but it also can be harmful to my heath and the environment

Good reasons to have.

17 is a pretty good age to start too, I mean, you're going to have to get used to cooking your own meals anyway, right?

Meal planning is a great way to start, but also looking around for vego easy meals. It can be hard after a long day, to be bothered cooking anything. Maybe you and your vego friend can have a night where you cook dinner together, so you're not feeling all alone in it all.

Congratulations and good luck!
