Hiiiiii! I'm new here!
I'm Sophie, I'm 18, and I live in Norfolk, UK. I became veggie when I was 13 (although I've wanted to since I was 8, but I was too scared of my parents' disapproval back then), and have never looked back!
I'm quite lucky in that I have a few friends who are also veggie, or "flexitarian", so it's not as much of a "social" problem if you get what I mean. I even found out that my new boss (I started my first full-time job this week) is also veggie!
Thought I'd join up here cuz it looked like a nice place to talk to other veggies!

Hi Dizzy! Welcome to the boards :)
You will find a lot of good information and advice, as well as wonderful people here.
I always think it is very difficult to become vegetarian on such a young age. Because you have to defend yourself to often much older and wiser (?) people.
(I was vegetarian when I was zero)
My usual answer: I have never heard a convincing reason to eat meat.
