Hello ..obviously Im from Dallas(suburb) and Im trying to be a vegetarian..I've always wanted to be because I love animals..and when I got older(Im 43 now but I mean like in my 30's) I started to hear the horror stories..I denied them..(went into denail) but more and more now Im thinking I also have (we I believe) health reasons to eat less meat or no meat and dairy..So Im lost..I was born in the south (Alabama) but have lived in Texas for 30 years..so veggies are all good..but all centered around MEAT..
What has pushed me over the edge is the movie "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead"..and just a couple weeks ago Forks Over Knives...
Now I guess that was maybe 12 days ago...and I've magaged to only eat 1 can of sardines and 2 servings of ice cream ..from my normal daily Chobani yogurt eating..provolone /cheddar etc cheese /meat eating (turkey /ribs /steaks /pork chops /lamb SELF! IOW Im about 4lbs of meat...and 3 lbs of cheese and 4 lbs of yogurt ahead from what I normally would have consumed in just that short time..Im also thrilled to know that its helping in my small way our earths envirment to my understanding...
I also have a husband and 2 children at home(one is almost 22 and the other 15) that will be eating LESS meat if not full blown vegetarian due to my influence..
Now my awesome cats are carnivores so I do feed them raw meat..but thats mother nature ...I do buy my meat from a farm in PA that ensures ethical treatment of the animals and drug free...(hormone antibiotic) and they are fed species appropriate diets.
Anyway thats a little about me..
