It's more of a lifestyle change,

I'm a Personal Trainer and I've led a high protein - moderate carb/fat diet for a long time. Even though I'm in good shape I want to take my body a step further and get leaner and healthier.

I've done the vegan thang for only a week now. So far so good!!!

So here I am.

Wish me luck!

Glad to have you. You might want to check out the Hamsters thread in Healthy Living if you haven't already, that's the thread for the exercize-conscious among us. See you around the boards!

Seriously, if I could afford it, I would. I have a hard time with motivation, and would benefit from someone keeping track of and planning my workouts for thoroughness (is that a word?) and variety.

My sister-in-law has a trainer now (gift from my brother - which she asked for), and she likes it. What's it like to be a trainer? Do you get all body types? Do you get anyone with disorders or obsessions?

I love being a trainer, I've been doing it a long time. It's the perfect part-time job. Full-time it can get boring!

I get all kinds of people, you name it, kids, obese, injured, inexperienced, professional athletes, etc...

Mostly I show people how to feel comfortable in the gym. For people who can afford it I usually become their teacher and motivator. My fav clients are the ones already in shape. Where do you live christy13?

I live in Georgia. That's another issue - the gym. They're building a new Gold's near my house. I've thought about joining on a non-contract basis to have the option of taking classes and using equipment for variety (I get bored easily). I'm not sure I could deal with the "no necks" like the ones I went to school with if those types happen to be there. They were quite judgemental and sh!tty. I guess that's my problem, though, not theirs.

Muscle heads are far and few between, most are nice but theres always the one kissing his/her own biceps while he/she works out. You'll be surprised how easy you'll fit in.

I love Georgia!

Perhaps I'm bitter. I have one vivid memory of a football player yelling "Casper" at me in the hallway, then chuckling with all his friends at how clever he is.

Webbum is new? Geez... I've seen so many posts by Webbum upon returning to VB that I could have sworn Webbum has been here for a long time. Welcome anyway!

Q: How many poets does it take to change a light bulb? A: 1001...one to change the bulb, 1000 to say it's already been done.

webbum, how's the vegetarian thing doing for you? Feel different? Do you find it hard? What have you been eating?

Just curious.
