So it's 2am and you are wide awake with nothing to do. What do you do? Well, you experiment. You get out your food stuff and just let it go. Basically, this thread is to talk about recipes you made (or tried to make) just because you wanted to experiment. There have been many times where I was up at at like 2am wanting to eat something and I'd just quickly try to make something neat by myself. It's fun to follow recipe books, but it's also fun to come up with things on your own.



Well, my goji berries and cacao nibs came today so I experimented with them. I mixed walnuts with some dates and coconut oil. Then I mixed in goji berries and cacao nibs and made little trail mix bar type things. They are currently dehydrating so no verdict yet but I bet they are good. The goji berries taste awesome but the cacao nibs are bitter (which is what I've heard/expected to happen) so I figured mixing them together in something would be nice. The thing is with me whenever I experiment I never measure anything so if people want the recipe all I can say is add some of this and that, but no amounts haha.



Any of you ever experiment? What were the results?

my experimentation has been mostly with techniques to use, since i am so new to raw. last night i was bored so i made tiny little zucchini noodles by slicing a zucchini with a carrot peeler and then cutting each slice into thin strips. i put some salt on it to soften and then covered it with basil and pine nut pesto. actually completely killed the pasta craving, but took some time to do. less time mind you then boiling pasta. i did two more zucchini's for lunch today.

I make this too. I use a julianne slicer to cut the zucchini. I make a sauce by mixing tomato, garlic, basil, oregano, carrot, onion, and celtic sea salt. I top it off with sprouts for garnish!

I made some dessert balls the first time I went raw. I had just a little bit of this and that left over from other recipes, and decided to mix it all together. I used almonds, soaked dates, soaked raisins, shredded coconut, raspberries, raw cocoa powder and carob powder. I mixed everything except the coconut and the raspberries together in my food processor til it made a paste. I rolled them into little balls, then rolled them through the coconut. Some of them I stuck the raspberries inside before rolling them into balls. I had previously made something similiar, but didn't quite have enough ingredients left over to follow the recipe exactly.

Okay, I made some awesome stuffed mushrooms last night. I used these small brown mushrooms that are the size of walnuts. I'm not sure what they are called, I bought them out of a bulk bin at Whole Foods, and I've seen them at HEB.



I took cashew cheese that I made up a few days ago and stuffed it inside of the mushrooms after removing the stems. I saved the stems for mushroom/seed patte that I'll have on another day. I put them in my food dehydrator for about 4 hours until they were slightly wilted. They were SO good!
