b: 2 mangoes, grapefruit, banana

l: was cooked, but I ate half of a watermelon, too.

d: lots of spinach and "broccoli slaw" wraps and raw sesame dressing. Those were wrapped in cooked tortillas, though.

s?: thinking about eating another banana, or I might cave and eat a cooked _____.

Chicagoan your smoothies contain greens and fruits and you aren't supposed to mix the two together fyi. The exception is apples go with any greens and carrots go with any fruits.

Nope... you are wrong!! Veggies and fruits can't go together, but I'm using only greens Greens are not vegetables... Lettuce is a vegetable, spinach is a green. People ignore greens and mix them with the vegetables... but they are not the same. Tomato, avocado and some more are not veggies either... are non sweet fruits.

Nope... human does not consider plant food as an important food. Meat is classified by type of animal (ground or sea) Specific animal (cow, chicken...) and even the part on the animal... However, all the veggies and greens are together, non classified...

Humans even waste super foods.... Would you guess that the leaves from a carrot, leaves that are always wasted, have 300% more nutrients that the carrot-orange part itself???

Greens are usually incorrectly called leafy greens. Greens are some of the follow:

Spinach, Kale, Parsley, Chard, Collards, Romaine, Endives most leaves from tuberculous such carrots...

Veggies are:

Lettuce, cauliflower, zucchini , celery, broccoli, cucumber... etc

Non suit fruit:

Tomatoes, Avocados, Bell Peppers , etc

And then the fruits... Even in the fruit family there are different types of fruits:

- Acids such: Apple, Apricot, Nectarines, Blueberries, Cherries, Grapes, Kiwis, Mangos, Papaya, Peach, Pears

- Sub Acid such: Blacbberries, Grapefruit, kumquat, Orange, Lemon, Pineapple, strawberries...

- Sweets such: Bananas, dates...

- Melons such: Honey Dew, Cantaloupe, Watermelon...

See? Even in the fruit family there are sub-families... and even these have rules to be eaten, as sweet fruit should be eaten the last one, and acids mixed with sub acids are not good at all, and melons should be eaten first and mixed only with acid or sub acid...

Zucchini and Cucumber are actually a fruit, but for the most part I agree with you. I didn't realize that about the carrot leaf...that's awesome. Thanks for the info. So, according to raw food combining I was told (or rather I read) that greens should not be mixed with fruits. I guess it just depends on the person.

It always depends on the person, however, greens are always fine with fruits... the problem is veggies... Banana + Lettuce = Rumbly tummy - harder digestion.

04/19/08

Breakfast: Green Smoothie with a new awesome wheatgrass, spinach, parsley, banana, raw agave, strawberries, goji berries and flax seeds.

Lunch: An avocado, raw cauliflower "rice" and romaine (to be used as tortillas)

Snack: Half bar of Raw Revolution Cashier and Agave and half bar of Spirulina and Cashier (Ana ate the other halfs - Both bars 100% raw)

Dinner: We've been preparing raw foods the whole days and we forgot to prepare something for dinner, so we slaughtered a brand new Honey Dew melon and it ended up all gone... it was so yummy.

Lunch: Huge salad consisting of homemade Italian style dressing, Italian styled salad mix, and freshly picked dandelion leaves (I've been waiting all summer for this)!

Breafast: No breakfast. Just some water with wheatgrass and spirulina tablets.

Lunch: Huge salad with organic greens, freshly picked Dandelion leaves and Comfrey leaves chia seeds, kelp, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and a homemade Italian style dressing!

Dinner: Went out to Ihop with mom and grandma and had two fruit bowls. I just made raw spaghetti and marinara and it's warming up in my dehydrator.

Snack: Raw peanuts, cacao nibs with agave, chocolate coconut Larabar.

Chicagoan, have you been to Karyn's raw restaurant in Chicago or that other one? How was it? I know that other one has the thing on a certain day (forgot what day) where it's all you can eat raw buffet and no price, but they accept donations.

I think Larabar are not 100%

I've only to Cousins IV and I also tried both raw dishes at the Chicago Diner.

Breakfast: Green Smoothie made with apples, strawberries, kale, spinach, sprirulina,, wheatgrass, goji berries, banana and carrots

Lunch: Too busy, a pear.

Snack: Sprirulina + Cashiers Raw Revolution 100% Raw

Dinner: I dined out, my plan was two raw pizzas, but they had no bases left so it was a Thunder Salad (with tomato, olives, lettuce, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, onion, avocados, sprouts, baby greens. Also raw nachos with different veggies.

I ate the salad with no dressing no oil (they had no cold pressed) and it was yummy by the way it was.

And vegan? I do not trust the Lara ones... I prefer the Raw Revolution. It's always indicated the % of Raw ingredients. Luckily, my favorite, spirulina, it's 100%
