This pie is absolutely delicious! Although, when I make it next time I think I will leave out the 2nd layer of crust, it seemed too "nutty"

Crust:

(about a cup of each)

Pecans

Medjool dates

Filling:

about 2 bananas thinly sliced

Topping:

a cup or two of strawberries

a cup of macadamia nuts

That looks really good. I'm going to try making it tonight. Is it your own recipe?

And when you mean second layer of crust, did you do: pecans/dates, banana layer, pecans/dates and then the strawberry/mac?

Thanks Jenna,

It is not my own, I got it from a book with a whole bunch of different recipes by different people.

and yea, that's what I meant by the second layer of crust. It looks pretty...but for me it was too much of a nut-to-fruit ratio. Maybe if you added like strawberry slices in with the banana then the second layer of crust wouldn't seem like too much.

I don't have much time to come on these boards ... but when I do I spend my time drooling at the recipes! Love it.

Whoa Kataka!! That looks pretty licking good!!! Thank you for sharing Kataka and thank you for the note on the 2nd layer. I know for I personally find some raw desserts to be a bit too much for me on nuts and boy I can really overload myself on it without me realizing it!!

Well, it'll be a while before I can make this. I've been trying to get dates from different stores here. Their trucks are coming from Georgia, and with the strikes going on with the immigration "felon" law people are trying to pass, there's no way for the trucks to get here. Everything is definitely connected.

Ok, I made mine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/DSCN7279.jpg

I'm going to make some changes to it next time I make it, I think. Double up the filling of the banana slices; maybe do more of the crust. I may make the pie taller, too, instead of spread out. I got a taste of the crust and of the topping while I was making them. I can't wait to eat it! It's in the fridge right now.
