Question about Raw diet and honey

I know honey is verbotten on the vegan diet, but I've been looking at some raw cookbooks that use honey. Is there a difference? Is honey okay on a raw diet? Please help, I've been replacing honey with maple syrup for the time being. Thank you.

From what I know some people are on raw vegan diet only for their own health benefits, not because of animals, they are on a vegan diet but they are not actually vegans in mindset or in their beliefs, they use honey same as some "vegetarians" eat fish.

I guess honey would be part of a raw diet, but not of a vegan raw diet.
