Hi all,

I have a container of Chia seeds in my fridge that have been waiting for me to try them. I have food allergies and have already been tested by the doctor for basic food and environmental allergies and there are a few things I know I am definitely allergic too that I cannot eat. I do however don't want that to stop me from trying new things, and I can't go to the doctor every time I want to try a new food! Has anyone ever heard of a person with a bad reaction to chia seed? It probably sounds weird, but I am allergic to sesame seeds and cannot eat them or I end up in the ER. I have eaten flax, sunflower, and other seeds without a problem.

thanks!

I did a quick Google search and found this:

An allergic reaction to chia is possible. People who are allergic to sesame or mustard seed could possibly be allergic to chia as well
