Hi guys,

I'm a vegan recipe blogger and I'm also keen on supporting other vegan/vego bloggers so that we can get amazing cruelty free food out there to everyone and support each other's efforts to promote veganism/vegoism.

So I thought we could share blogs with each other in this thread and support each other by "following" or "liking" or linking our blogs to each other.

My blog is:
http://gormandizewithus.blogspot.com

I hope some of you will check it out and tell your friends about it too.

I can't wait to find some new blogs to follow and get great ideas from!

@veggiez - do you have a good recipe for 红烧芋艿? I'm keen to make it like the kind I used to eat a lot in 杭州. Thanks!

@Qitian, yeah I was even wondering about your nickname here, looks like a Chinese one, hehe... I actually don't know what is 红烧芋艿, since my hometown is in northern China, this one looks like something in south, but I will check it out and if I find anything, will write it in my blog... By the way thanks for the appreciation

MOD POST - A friendly reminder: new members are not allowed to post links to their own sites or blogs until they have been with us for at least 30 days and have posted in a variety of threads. They are also not allowed to have links in their signatures. If we have too many newbies violating these rules, we'll have to close this thread down, although that would be a shame as it seems to be a great resource. So - if you're new, don't post links until you've contributed to VB in other ways - we don't want to think you're here just to send traffic to your own site!

@Qitian, I just added the 红烧芋艿 recipe for you, you can visit my blog to check it out, I'm not sure if it meets your taste, since people of different regions of China have different taste, different concept and different ways of cooking, but it would approximately same I guess... And wish you a good meal in advance

Yeah the pic looks like what I used to eat - I'll have to give it a go and see if it reminds me of home in Hangzhou. I've never heard the word dasheen before though! We translate it as 'Braised Taro in Brown Sauce'.

Well is taro more common than dasheen? Actually I haven't heard any of them, just checked dictionary and selected word dasheen to use, hehe... Brown sauce? Hmm actually in Chinese it's red sauce, but brown sounds more close to the real color of the dish, hehe... Thank you for the information, maybe I will edit my blog for the better and commoner, hehe

Haha, I know that it translates as Red Sauce from the Chinese - but on all the menu's in China the English underneath always said Brown Sauce and I never knew why I looked up dasheen and I think it is another word for taro. However, I think that more people would have heard of taro than dasheen - so you may want to include both in your recipe.

Thank you for the appreciation Qitian. Actually I was thinking to add that recipe, but it requires some special soy bean sauce which is normally only available in China, so I gave it up.

Oh that's a shame. I was thinking of trying to make some. Do you know of any good substitute that would be available here?

Great blog! Keep up the good work. Just made your Artichoke and Pine Nut Dolma's for a potluck dinner, and they were an absolute hit!

Love that i found your blog making the cabbage rolls next week. Been craving cabbage for weeks and the fiances is going out of town next week (he hates cabbage the smell as well) so making it just for me. I will be trying out a few things on there looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your blog Sarah!  Those recipes look fantastic!  I really love the beet recipes and it's perfect timing as I have more beets in my garden than I know what to do with.  I never even though of making the beet roasted hummus.  I bookmarked your blog.  I shouldn't have looked at this thread since I am supposed to be studying for an exam lol.  I will be returning.

I have been working on it from scratch and I really need to know what do you think!

Thank you so much in advance!

Hey QiTian!

I really appreciated the "World Food" section of your blog! I have a question to you: in Texas I tried an AMAZING sauce I have no idea what the name can be. It is something like Chinese sweet-sour one, but more on a sweet side and it is also brown but darker. Do have an idea about what can it be and how to make it? :) Thank you!
