When I saw the 1999 movie, I thought it was about AR. But I recently read the book, and realized it was about corrupt governments, and how you can't tell your own governments from the corrupt ones.

It's about several things. Animal rights and corrupt governments are some of several lessons to be gleaned from George Orwell's work.

Q: How many poets does it take to change a light bulb? A: to change the bulb, 1000 to say it's already been done.

I take it to mean that power corrupts, even if it's power to some leftist revolutionary who "cares about the people", but it is also an allegory about the communist revolution in Russia.

But I read the book first and my mother discussed it with me in the 6th grade.

When I read it in Jr. High, I thought the AR message came through more strongly than the political message.
