I've listened to a lot of different bands/genres in the past, too many to list in fact, but for the last 8 or so years the only thing that has really interested me is electronic music. I listen mainly to Goa, Trance, Drum n Bass, Ambient/Chill....but my absolute love is Psytrance

A few people mentioned Rasputina and I've been wondering about them anyway (my beloved Bust magazine seems to think pretty highly of them). So, I went to a few sites for some sample clippys www.rasputina.com. I'll be purchasing some CDs today. Wow, super good stuff! It seems as though Cabin Fever didn't get such good fan reviews but "Thimble Island" and "Sweet Water Kill" sound too good to pass up.

BTW, someone mentioned that they liked "gabber" music. I've always wondered what exactly that is? Anyone who likes techno-style stuff wanna help a sista out with a little info?

Oh yeah, anyone who's heavy into Trance and ambient stuff might want to check out Robert Rich www.robertrich.com. He does these 12 hour sleep concerts where people show up at a venue with sleeping bags and such and makes the trippiest music you'll ever hear in order to induce lucid dreaming and such. He has a 12 hour music DVD called Somnium that's a recording of one of these "shows." He also has "regular" CDs that have definite songs (no vocals though). He's a very talented, professional guy.

I also listen to movie soundtracks. In fact, around half of the music I listen to is movie soundtrack so I don't know how I managed to forget about it, lol.

I have a few favorites...

Josh Groban - "Closer" His first album was awesome, too.

Evanesence - Amy Lee is an amazing vocalist.

Etta James.... 'nuff said.

Ella Fitzgerald *nodnods*

Diana Krall is amazing.

John Mayer - heh.. I like both "Room For Squares" and "Heavier Things" Though most of his acoustics are way better than the actual songs.. The studio "Neon" blows!!

Justin Timberlake - I can't help it... I just love Justin...

Andrea Bocelli - I love Tenors.. And "Sueno" is a great album. Except for that Celine Dion song.. *shudder*

Ben Taylor Band - "Famous Among the Barns" I love this album.

Guster - Any album. Seriously.. this is a good and fun band

Chris Botti - his trumpet playing is.. amazing.

Last but not least... Santana... You CAN'T hate Santana.

I probably left plenty out... That's all off the top of my head. But aside from this, I like a lot of classical (Dvorak is my favorite) and I have been listening to a lot of cultural music lately. (Greek, Hawaiian, etc.)

I like a lot of stuff from Scythe's list (not Nickelback, of course ) but I'm not gonna be half as motivated as he was so I'm just gonna put a link to my LastFm page where you can see my top artists/albums/etc.

I like more than is reflected there, that's just stuff that's been scrobbled while I have listened to iTunes.
