Has become one of my new loves. She's snotty and crass and *****y, it's like me but whitebritishgirl.

Seriously.

I highly reccomend her album - Alright, Still & the songs - Smile, Knock Em Out, LDN, Nan Your a Window Shopper, Not Big, Friday Night

some people hate her because they say she disses too much. But I dig, I dig!

cry havoc! and let slip the dogs of war.

I like a lotta her lyrics and her snotty, crass, *****yness... My friend had me watch some of her videos not too long ago and they're pretty funny. She's not someone I'd typically listen to, but she's amusing, so I dig, too.

Good lyrics, witty, on some of her songs. Like "LDN" for example. I like ska, which lots of her songs have a lot of. Fairly nice arrangements. Too much overdubbing, I think is what it is. She sounded much better on Sat Night Live than on her studio recordings. On SNL you just heard her voice once, instead of multiple layers of her voice. Nice arrangment and nice throat on SNL. If I could afford a ticket, I would see her live performance, but skip buying her album. You can download lots of cuts from her myspace site, anyway.

She has such a wonderful-sounding throat that it is a crime to obscure it by pasting recording on top of recording, unless of course they are good harmonies, but they are not. Usually this technique is reserved for people who can't really sing decently, so you don't notice how awful they are. But Lily can sing decently.

Kind of love Lilly Allen. She has a really great voice from hearing her live performances. Only thing that kind of bugs me about her though is her image. She seems to try and come across as a common Londoner yet if you actually hear her talk she's such the oposite, more posh than anything else. Still great in her own kind of way though.

Yes, she is kind of nuts. But so clever and witty at it, it is hard to hold it against her. In other words, she is a charming youngster. Full of good-spirited naughty fun. Perhaps she'll blossom with bit more wisdom as she ages. Her myspace blog says she is trying to quit drinking.

She's CHAV-TASTIC. My favourite lyrics are :

Riding through the city on my bike all day

Cause the filth took away my license

(the filth---that cracks me up--right out of the Sweeney/Starsky and Hutch)

and:

She was struggling with bags from Tesco

There were people from the city having lunch in the park

I believe that it's called al fresco

Who else could have thought of a rhyme for tesco????

I think many of ther things are complimented by the video (particulary LDN and SMILE) but I don't get into the one about her dope smoking brother that much. And I hate the video for that.

Song-video were as fresh and witty as anything else I've seen-heard from LA. Loved it.

I agree. It's a lot more raw than her studio stuff. I haven't heard any of her stuff live though, that might be interesting.

I heard an interview with her where she said that her brother Alfie didn't know she had written a song about him being a slacker until he heard it on the radio. Mean! (But funny.)

Smile live is much better than the normal recorded version. I think there's a few covers she's done for radio 1's live lounge (how i could not live without radio 1's live lounge, makes life worth living!) but not sure of all of them, i may have to go and investigate further.

I love her entire album. It's a lot of fun to listen to. If you like her you should check out her MySpace page, she has some funny blogs. My favorite blog is the one where she is in San Diego and she is taking pictures of a crack deal going down outside her bus window. It's surreal.
