British singer James Blunt was on Ophra today singing his gorgeous single "You're Beautiful". He seemed quite humble. His song just became #1 this past week in the US.

Being the Anglophile that I am I bought the album when it came out last year when I heard all the buzz in the British press about him. He's #1 around the world.

He's the first Bristish-borne artist since Elton John's tribute to Diana at her death "Goodbye England's Rose" to make it to #1 in the USA. British artists have had a hard time cracking the American charts because of hiphop. I know, I'm full of useless information.

Check out James Blunt, I'm sure you'll like him. He's easy on the eyes too.

I really don't get it. I'm not trying to be rude...I just can't stand his voice.

But different strokes for different folks...I mean a lot of people don't like Bob Dylan's voice.

cool guy, quality singer-songwriter, interesting kinda retro voice and style, but the end package is a bit too pop for me.

i've bumped into many artists that fall into a category i think of as 'over-produced'

i'll bet he sounds awesome live though

I've tried to like him (I read some pretty favourable reviews and tried trusting others' judgement), but couldn't. I don't like his voice and I don't like his music.

That being said, I've only heard two of his songs. And the first couple of times I heard "You're Beautiful", I actually found it rather sweet and endearing. But it just got annoying after a while... maybe I heard it too many times.

I love pop music and in this hip-hop country I'm starved for good pop music. Which is probably why I look to the UK and Europe (particularly Sweden) for good pop music.

I find his record simplistic, not over produced at all.

Madonna, J Lo, Justin Timberlake..........that's over production.

True. Different strokes for different folks. There is no right or wrong opinion about music.

Like Nickelback. I can't for the life of me see how they've sold millions of albums. His voice is irritating to the max and the songwriting trivial.

But I do like Dylan.

I can't like him. I find him waaay too angsty and tortured sounding, especially "good-bye my lover", though "you're beautiful" is kinda sweet and catchy.

He seems like a pretty interesting guy but I am not a fan of his music.

There's only so much angst I can take. I hate angst, especially people and bands like Staind, et al. But he makes it sound pretty. But there's only so much I can take of even him.
