I haven't seen ANY of the nominated movies (except the latest Harry Potter thingy).

And oh yeah, Howl's Moving Castle, which I didn't like.

It's all gays and flag burners! Hollywood, what is wrong with you?

I think Brokeback Mountain is a lock-in for Best Picture and Best Director, but I don't think it will win in all the actor categories.

I'm really excited to see Amy Adams nominated for Best Supporting Actress. She got snubbed at the Golden Globes.

Felicity Huffman should win Best Actress, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman (not Heath Ledger) should win Best Actor.

Syriana deserves best screenplay, and Munich for adapted screenplay.

Since Terrence Howard is not going to win Best Actor, he should win Best Original Song, "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp".

Crash deserves to be shut out, but I don't think it will be, so I'll give it Best Film Editing.

Cinderella Man and Walk The Line were great movies, but I don't think they'll win anything.

I loved Syriana, but am rooting for The Squid and the Whale for screenplay.

hehehe.....actually the gay film industry has been around for decades. Here in Tampa there's a film festival every year with many movies. Many of the movies are awesome, many are trash. What's unusual is the mainstream success of Brokeback as well as critical acclaim. Every now and then a movie like The Birdcage breaks out and makes money, but no oscars. I seriously doubt there is going to be a big trend in Hollywood.

But then again, it just might destroy the family and society as we know it.

"But then again, it just might destroy the family and society as we know it."

Wasn't that said about the Roman and the Greek homosexual community some 2,000 years ago? There is nothing new in the world. That too is a misquote from someone.

What would we be without wishful thinking?
