My boyfriend and I are loving this, www.pandora.com is part of the music genome project, you put in songs and artists that you love, and it creates a station of similar music, which you further refine by giving each song a thumbs up or down. It also tells you why you like songs (apparently I'm into a vocal centric aesthetic, lol).

Its pretty new, they haven't even got all their advertising up, but I think its going to be pretty popular, everyone I've sent it to have loved it.

Yeah, it's cool. I've been using it for a couple months now. I've discovered a lot of good bands that I wouldn't have otherwise.

Hah, I was thinking about making a thread for this too! I have kind of specific musical tastes, so I was pretty hopeful about this, and it's great! I found a few bands that I'd never heard of that I really like!

Check out my webcomic! www.GrammarComic.com

I found one excellent song via Pandora, but that was about it, haven't used it since.

Shoot, apparently it's not accessible for anyone outside the US....I guess Canadians aren't welcome, lol. Hopefully they change it soon, sounds cool!

My roomie introduced it to me recently, and it's all I listen to while I work ((9 hr shifts)) when I don't have my iPod.

I really like it, I also like the fact that you hear a lot of deeper cuts that are seldom played on a regular radio station. I did exhaust it after listening to Led Zeppelin radio for about 5 hours straight one time.

This is pretty neat. For the non-US folks, it only seems to check your residency by asking for your zip code (I used my old Chicago one, 60615). Our IP address is clearly from the UK, but I'm listening to some cool blues music even as I type.

Hmmm, I'm surprised I never found this thread before. I'm a *huge* pandora.com fan and I used to listen to it pretty much every day. Now that I have a new work computer that has my iTunes library on it I don't listen to it quite as much, but I still do use it.

Pandora.com has pretty much been my main source for new music for the last 1 1/2 years. Almost all of my CD purchases and trades have been to get music I first heard on Pandora.

Then thing I like most about Pandora is that it gets me to listen to things I wouldn't have even considered trying before. So I actually have acquired some guilty pleasure songs from people I wouldn't have even given a listen before. It's also opened me up to a slew of artists I'd never heard of before and wasn't likely to hear about any other way.

I don't really listen to the radio much and I don't watch much music TV, so pandora is my main source for new sounds.

Sad day for UK'ers

Unless you're like Jen and transplant old US zip codes in.

Hm. I suspect that subbing a US zip code won't be good enough after the 15th.

oh so glad I bumped this thread, lol

its doesn't even allow that if I jump on now I'll forever have access does it ? unless what? I don't know any idea, is it all about zipcodes, is that the only complication or WAS that the only temporary remedy at least, to fake one?

Surely now they will begin to enforce the new ruling or whatever such, by ISP or computer address blocking of UKers trying to access their site at all (come the 15th) ??

I looked at this and it looks pretty similar to the Last.fm radio player too.

Inc. Magazine published a really interesting story about pandora.com and Tim Westergren (the founder of pandora.com) a few months ago. It's long, but worth a read.

I love Pandora. I listen to it all day at work. Much better than the radio with commercials.
