I'll probably reread them again, they're good bedtime reading... other books I like aren't so much

Then I'm dumb too, because that's what I did as well, Cissy. Last book first, and then started back at the beginning. It doesn't matter, they all rule, regardless of the order you read them in.

And I read them at bedtime too! They are so addictive that I can't hardly make myself stop reading them to go to bed.

I was reminded recently that another major character is going to get killed off in Book 6. Not looking forward to THAT.

WHAT? NO!

Aw crap. I need to go back to my muggle-net days. Did anyone ever go there? That, HP.com, and leakycauldron were like my VB back in the day.

cyk, Goblet of Fire is book #4. You should definitely check it out- it's a great book (possibly my favorite of all, except I do love Order of the Phoenix too).

Brownie, I look around on mugglenet sometimes. I found a link there to a site that sells wands, broomsticks, robes and the like. I was like a kid in a candy store!

I elected to go for the Super-Saver shipping from Amazon, so I won't get my copy of HBP until the 19th. So you all don't ruin it for me! You can freak out, express your sentiments, even do spoilers (provided you use the tags).....but no fair ruining it for my poor little self!

I'm sure there are enough bookworms here that a few of you will have read the whole book by the time I get my copy. I know I will probably have a hard time remembering to eat once I get mine.

Just wanted to throw that out there into the fray.

So while we wait.....what is everyone's favorite book? I know that could easily be a new thread of its own, but I think we should try to contain the madness within this thread and not have multiple HP fan threads.....no?

3!! I wouldn't even see the movie becuse I didn't want my vision of the book to be ruined. It's weird that my favorite book is the only one in which Volde doesn't make an appearance. It's also weird that numero five would be my second favorite had JK just not put Voldemort in there *rips out hair*

In case anybody was wondering, I did some searching and I found out that book 6 is 672 pages, according to Amazon. This is good news because I had heard that it was going to be a lot shorter and I was panicking thinking it would go back to the 300ish pages of the first 2!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Well, Bellatrix or another Death Eater could have fought Harry and/or Dumbledore instead of Voldemort. I agree that it is better with Voldie, though.

I see your point, Pasta....but I still think it wouldn't have been the same w/o. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The scene where Voldemort and Dumbledore are duelling in the lobby of the Ministry of Magic while Harry is hiding is awesome! Dumbledore is so cool!

Edit: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Bellatrix is one scary woman though!!

Only 672!

The third and fourth books are my favorite I'd say. but it's very close.

eta: Today my mom said, "Oh, I bet by the time that the seventh book comes out, you won't even be interested in Harry Potter anymore, you'll be too old for it." Blasphemy! I will never outgrow Harry Potter

I'm 31 and I am far from outgrowing it!! I have an uncle that is nearly 60 that loves HP too. He has a Golden Snitch on his antenna of his SUV, and always has a bag of Bertie Botts' with him.

Outgrow Harry Potter? Pish-posh. Good books are meant to be read, regardless of the age of the reader. Amidst my political/social fare, you'll find The Chronicles of Narnia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Bridge to Terabithia, and a smattering of other "kids'" books.

<<<shakes head at ~Brandon for ordering from Amazon. What kinda fan are you anyway?

When the last book came out, there were about 6-7 of us at work who went to the midnight release party. The next Monday, we all showed up with our Harry Potter glasses. (childcare workers know how to have fun! lol)

I have so many "kids" books it isn't even funny heh. They are mine too, not my kids. But, I let my kids read them Of course, I have a lot of kids books purely for their illustration value. I love illustration, specifically the illustration in children's books.

27 days!!!

I just finished rereading GoF for the 63rd time and now I'm rereading OotP for the 28th (I haven't read it as many times because it hasn't been out as long) time, and last time until Half-Blood Prince! I'll be having my usual midnight party with all my friends and their friends as we stay up all night reading.
