Heh. The all day reading fests are the best. My sisters and I took over my parents' living room when the last one came out. It was funny b/c we'd be reading in all different places and then one of us would say "oohhhh", then another would say "what? what?", but we'd have to ask what page we were on. lol Good times.

You are right on that one . His mom was a witch and his dad was a muggle. A lot of the characters seem to be 'half-bloods'. Even Hagrid is half-giant.

Needless to say, I am very excited to read the new book. The only problem I have with it, is that this means there will only be one more (year 7) and then the series will most likely end. Harry will be all grad-e-ated and stuff. I hate endings! *pouts*

Now where the h-e-double hockey sticks is the next movie?!

Which makes it odd that so many of his supporters frown upon mudbloods. Maybe that was covered somewhere and I've just forgotten about it.

I haven't read any of the books, but I have all of the movies.

I may be able to snag the books from my brother, though.

Wait a minute. I just had a thought re: who the HBP could be. Has it ever been said that he/she has to be 1/2 human and 1/2 wizard?

I was thinking......Hagrid is 1/2 giant, and 1/2 wizard........

Ooh, good thinking!

Did you ever wonder how a giantess and a wizard could, you know, ?

Oooh..I don't remember seeing anywhere that it was a Wizard/Muggle combination. That brings up a whole other set of possibilities.

I seem to recall that Hagrid was only 1/2 giant. Am I mistaken? I was thinking that his non-giant half was the wizard part. We know Hagrid's a wizard because of his wand (concealed in the pink umbrella). He's "not supposed to use magic" but gives Dudley a piggy tail, etc.

It was just a thought......everyone would obviously think of Harry, or you-know-who. It would be cool if it were Hagrid...!

I don't think that IamJen was disputing the 1/2 giant thing...

Oh no, I didn't take it that she was. It could very well be that my memory isn't right about it. It's been well over a year since I read the books.

This (rather odd) discussion reminds me of an old Seinfeld episode where George is obsessed with sleeping with a tall, tall woman. lol

Maybe the wizard has a growing spell to make himself really big?

That has dirtier implications than I intended.

I can't wait!!!! There is a party at my local bookstore and we all get our books at midnight. The only thing that sucks is that I know I will read it non stop and be done in a day and then I will have to wait years for the next one.

I've busted out my Quidditch World Cup game for Xbox and I've been playing Quidditch like a madman! I'm in mid-championship using the Bulgarian team. Go Viktor Krum!
