What are some of your favorite shows? Any you wish they still had on tv? or atleast wish they'd put out on DVD?

Some of my favorite shows have been:

Belle and Sebastian (80's cartoon)

The Thundercats

My So-Called Life

La Femme Nikita

Law and Order

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Highlander

Farscape

I like leaving the TV on the Animal Planet channel.

I have Highlanders first season on DVD and all of the Buffy seasons on DVD but that's it so far.

I know there are some other shows that I really enjoy but I can't think of any others right now.

Northern Exposure. Ren & Stimpy. Fat Albert (the cartoon). The Electric Company.

I have season 1 of Northern Exposure, seasons 1 and 2 of Ren & Stimpy on DVD.

Want season 2 of N.E., but it is expensive. I'll get it eventually, because after all it is my favorite show of all time!

Will & Grace - the early seasons. Lately I've been getting bored with it.

McGuyver (is that how you spell it? I haven't watched that show in a LONG time!)

my favorite was Xena, but when I watch old episodes now it's like when I listen to Spice Girls- I'm a little embarrassed that I ever liked it so much, but I still get some fuzzy nostalgia.

MASH is def. one.

Deep Space Nine. (come back, krista! nobody else understands my love of DS9!)

Third Rock From the Sun

Charmed... I liked this around the same time I liked Xena. I don't know if it actually suddenly started sucking after Prue died or if I just matured. It's another one that I'm pretty sure wasn't really that great of a show to begin with. but I never taped it, so I can't go back and watch old episodes.

I don't really watch tv anymore, except for The Family Guy. But for the first 4 seasons, I was addicted to Sopranos, and my favorite show when I was a kid was SheRa, Princess of Power.

Oh, how could I forget Wonder Years and Northern Exposure!

My mom has started watching LOST and Medium and she's really, really enjoyed those shows a lot. And she was a huge fan NYPD Blue, as well.

Another vote for Northern Exposure (at least the beginning seasons ) and Seinfeld.

Other faves:

Newsradio (the funniest freaking show I've seen yet)

St. Elsewhere

Homefront

American Gothic (short lived, spooky show)

WKRP in Cincinnati

I Love Lucy

STNG

Frasier and Mad About You gave me some good moments, but they were kind of a mixed bag.

And let's not forget all the shows that fell victim to the David E Kelley curse (superb first season, followed my good ones, then passable, eventually dwindling into suck-ville)....Picket Fences, LA Law, Chicago Hope, Ally McBeal, Boston Public, The Practice.....sigh.

The ones I pity are the ones who never stick out their neck for something they believe, never know the taste of moral struggle, and never have the thrill of victory. - Jonathan Kozol

Don't watch much TV, and never have, - but we live close enough to the little town where they filmed 'Northern Exposure' that we would often go and watch when they were filming outdoor scenes... and that turned me into a RAVING, RABID FAN of the show...I have so much NE memorabilia and tacky tourist stuff.... PLUS the DVD's... (Buy them on E-Bay, usually cheaper!!)

Also, loved 'Twin Peaks'. (Anyone remember that?) partly, I think because it was set in a fictitious Washington town - we got to watch them filming once too..

Frasier - it was supposedly set in Seattle too, we always laughed at all the Washington references they got "wrong" ... and it was on the only TV channel that came in clearly on our antenna.

And MASH, of course.

I have a quick question for everyone who listed Buffy -- did you never get into Angel? That was the superior show, in my opinion.

'Course, maybe that's cause I'm OLD.

(This isn't a slam on Buffy, which I also enjoyed with the exception of S7 -- I just can't imagine not experiencing Angel to round out the whole adventure -- hello, Cordelia was more than just a spoiled brat -- ring any bells?)

Okay, geekvent over.

I like The X-Files (shoddy acting from the male lead, usually shoddy writing, poorly-kept-track-of mythology... and yet very charismatic and interesting), Black Books (first season, don't like the others), the old Simpsons (seasons 1 - 6), Blackadder, the later MASH (the dramatic seasons), some Futurama, and Frasier. I'm also fond of Bottom (yes, it's in poor taste, but I love the ambiguous humour. "I've got an excellent idea. Quick, into the lavvies!" - "No, Richie! It's illegal!")

EDIT: I somehow forgot Monk. I loved the first season thoroughly, and I don't mind the newer ones, but they're not as well-written, what with the long-lost-brother, spontaneous heart-attacks during crucial moments and explaining away Sharona in one line.

Mini-series-wise, you just can't beat Scener ur ett Atkenskap (Scenes from a Marriage).

I actually never got into Angel. In fact, Angel always bugged me for some weird reason when he was on the show so I wasn't about to watch a show all about him. I was always more of a Spike girl

AoD - Charmed used to be one of my "can't miss" shows too...but now I never watch it anymore. It's definitely seen better days...
