Anyone seen this Korean film about a Buddist Monk and his pupil who live in the middle of a lake? I think a lot of people would think of it as 'watching grass grow', but I thought it was really good. Very strange, but really good.

I saw it a few months back and I loved it.

I thought of it as a "moving picture"......one of those oriental nature paintings.

I thought it was a beautiful film that captured the essence of buddhism.

I just saw this film last week and really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful film - beautiful cinematography. And I agree with beforewisdom - I think it truly captured the essence of buddhism.

It's one of those films that is difficult to recommend to others, though. I told a friend of mine to watch it and she thought it was so boring and I doubt she watched the whole thing. I, on the other hand, was really disappointed when it was over.

Bethanie, thanks for posting about this movie. I've never heard of it, but after having watched the trailer, I know I need to see it. Being very interested in Buddhism, this movie really appeals to me already.

Really wanted to see it. Maybe I'll rent it when HD-DVD comes around...
