MICHAEL POLLAN's
Netflix Documentary Series: Cooked

Explored through the lenses of the four natural elements – fire, water, air and earth – Cooked is an enlightening and compelling look at the evolution of what food means to us through the history of food preparation and its universal ability to connect us. Highlighting our primal human need to cook, the series urges a return to the kitchen to reclaim our lost traditions and to forge a deeper, more meaningful connection to the ingredients and cooking techniques that we use to nourish ourselves.

This looks like a good documentary but I don't think it's very vegan-friendly, judging by the trailer.

Most of the above films are available on DVD. I, myself, have been able to watch these DVDs simply by borrowing them from my local public library. Perhaps they're available at your local public library too.

Food Chains

I think that it's very important for American society (and Canadian society as well, for that matter) not to take the hard work of migrant farm workers for granted. I mean, just where do we think our food comes from anyway? I am posting this today because it's likely the last time I'll have access to a computer before Thanksgiving Day, which is being celebrated in Canada tomorrow. Unlike President Trump, I just wanted to show that I do appreciate what these people do for us; and they ARE people, Mr. Trump.
