Alright, lay em on me...what is your favorite "get outta the funk" song. I think I'm going to burn a CD. This time of year is always kinda bleah for me...

Aside from anything Motown, my nominations are:

(started out to be 10, but ended up at 12..)

This Year - Chantal Kreviazuk

Happy Together - The Turtles

Beautiful day - U2

Love Shack - B52s

Come Sail Away - Styx

I feel the Earth Move - Carole King

Hakuna Matata - Disney (apologies)

Love Train - O'Jays

Everyday - DMB

Crocodile rock - Elton John

Power of Love - Huey Lewis and the News

I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor

And of course, the Mary Tyler Moore theme (lol)

The ones I pity are the ones who never stick out their neck for something they believe, never know the taste of moral struggle, and never have the thrill of victory. - Jonathan Kozol

"Dirty" by Dirty

There was a lotta big pimpin'

Cadillacs and women,

and a whole lotta southern game

a lotta colored folks, 'n a big cloud of smoke

and that's when the police came

they said "break it up stop it

don't another woman pop it!"

but the party kept going to the early

dawn, to the dawn ta-da-dang da-dang dang

somebody screamed out "That's Dirty!"
