First I want to say thank you to neo77 for finding this for me. Second this sort of comes out of another thread which got pretty convoluted so I'm putting this in it's own thread.
Dairy was the last and hardest thing for me to give up. I struggled with giving up dairy not for taste but for social reasons. Not eating things with milk, butter, or cheese is the weirdest part about being vegan and the one that most makes me stand out as a social pariah during social mealtimes. Even should-be-vegan foods like vegetables and blackbeans are cooked in butter and/or topped with cheese where I am. When I cook for my SA he says the food is awful but it could have been good if it only had cheese. I'm ashamed to say even Earthlings didn't completely stop me from occasional dairy when it was socially weird not to eat it. This video got to me though and gave me the backbone (or maybe broken heart) that I needed to be the weird vegan. Every time I even think about dairy the image of what the men do to the calves in this video fills my head and I am sad.
If you are struggling with giving up dairy I recommend this. Like Gary Yourofsky said, if you are going to eat it, you owe it to the animals to watch and not look away. http://youtu.be/gYTkM1OHFQg
Yea this is from the conklin farms. I personally don't think just giving up dairy is enough to help the cows. this video fills me with a rage to absolutely destroy these men.
I was pregnant when I watched this And I think it effected me twice as hard being hormonal.
