I'm not sure if anyone has seen it, but there is already a commercial airing by McCain insulting Obama. I always hate negative commercials, so this almost makes me want to vote for Obama assuming he doesn't lower himself to something like this. The biggest problem I have is that it has aired during the Olympics. The Olympics are an event which is supposed to promote people to be united, yet this does just the opposite. Does anyone else feel this is completely inappropriate?

You're wondering why there are negative commercials ALREADY? There have been negative commercials through out the entire campaign, even during the primaries.

Is that the one in which McCain is swinging his cane around in the nursing home?

I don't actually recall any negative commercials before this. I have been paying more attention during the Olympics and don't normally pay much attention to commercials in general. Maybe it's just my bad memory.

I'm confused. Did we actually expect the man who called his wife the c word and exploited paris hilton and brittany spears to avoid personal attacks?

Not vouching for the authenticity of the source but the following passage is found in the book "The Real McCain" by Cliff Shecter:

McCain's wife Cindy teased him about his thinning hair at which point he lashed out, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you ****."

He should put that in his ads.
