Hi everyone.

I have a question for people. Do all men watch porn?

I don't think I've ever met a man who didn't watch pornography, but I would hope that there are some wonderful souls out there who have never done it or have decided to get rid of this habit. Would you guys speak up?

No, a few just read magazines.

ETA: I think porn is helpful in a relationship, especially in that it prevents sexual frustrations and cheating.

It's far better for those frustrations to be worked out over some porn than an unwilling woman.

I think the commonly-held belief that all men are porn addicts is a little over-exaggerated. Sure, a little porn doesn't hurt, but it's not like we all walk around with our pants around our ankles.

Wow. Interesting first post.

No, not all men watch porn regularly. Most guys I know have seen it, though, which is normal.

The real question is: Why don't more women watch porn?

As far as I know, yes they do. And while we're at it, I just want to point out that women watch porn too! Not all of us I guess, but.

Most guys I know do watch it but I also know a fair few who don't & for different reasons. Some are very religious so don't for that reason, believing it to be wrong. An ex of mine just didn't like it. Another doesn't while in a relationship, reasoning that when he has a girlfriend its redundant. Sounds like the guys I know are an odd mix...

My husband doesn't. He doesn't even like movies with sex in them -- he wants the show to get back to the blowing up of stuff. He says porn just makes him feel "weird" and he doesn't like it. I read erotica but I don't watch movies due to potential coercion and exploitation of the stars, both male and female. There's a lot of hidden abuse and forced "performing" in the sex industry, particularly in porn from foreign countries. You never know what you're getting in a download.

Most of my other guy friends brag about how much porn they watch, except one, who is battling porn addiction.

/2 cents

I think this is just proof that guys lie. If you ever go to a Promise Keepers meeting where christians admit their deepest secrets to other Christian men, you'll realize that even the most religious men watch/read pornography.

My ex swore that all men watched it "a lot" and "couldn't help themselves"...

Since then, I've known many instances where men say they aren't interested/don't look at it or don't watch excessively. I don't know how many of those guys were telling the truth, but I'm inclined to believe them... Some guys do, some don't. I think you might be surprised at how many actually don't so often.<shrug>

Obviously women watch porn too, it just isn't "advertised" as much. I prefer reading erotica to looking at stuff, that's just me - every person's preferences/beliefs/standards/interests are going to be different, I don't think it's accurate to say "every" guy watches it...

Many of them do, just like many non-religious men.

The religious ones just feel guilty about it and feel they need to confess to someone. (Not saying this is good or bad). The guys I know who *say* they aren't all that interested (or just think it's stupid) aren't religious though.

I don't care for "watching" videos. But reading erotica for sure, and I still consider that porn.

I don't usually watch it, but sometimes the filthy joys of watching Oompa-Loompa singing scenes are too much to resist.

My man doesn't watch it...he isn't interested. Would rather see the real thing.

I agree with him. The real thing is always better. Plus, there's the closeness, the intimacy and all the other good things.

FTR- with regards to the title of this thread.....

All men don't do anything besides breathe, eat, drink fluid and use the bathroom.

I don't like generalizations or blanket statements that are applied to an entire group of the population, personally.

Well, I doubt that very many people who like to watch porn would disagree that having sex is preferable. (Or did "seeing the real thing" mean watching other people have sex irl? I do that to my neighbours sometimes but they always get so angry )

I agree that generalizations are BS. We've already established that all men like blondes (in the "politically incorrect things" thread), and now that they watch porn. What next?

That's why you gotta' buy home grown. God Bless America.

And from what I understand the amateur pornography tends to be a pretty "good" industry. Note that, by "amateur" I mean actual "homemade" or small time businesses. Mom and Pop pornographers, if you will. The "amateur" stuff released by major labels tends to be as bad, if not worse than "mainstream" stuff as far as working conditions and coercion is concerned.

He enjoys watching other people have sex in real life?

Or are you talking about specifically the people of the gender type he prefers?

I agree. i remember when I found my boyfriend's porn stash I was infuriated until I really thought about it. He never choses it over me, and there are times when I might not be around, months at a time in fact. I would much prefer him to use the porn than to start looking elsewhere. It isn't like he looks at it daily or anything. As long as it isn't interfereiong with the time he dedicates to me and as long as it is not strippers or anything "live" than I really don't care. I am kinda glad that he does in a way.

Yes, all men watch porn....even boyfriends (mine included).

My best friend and her boyfriend watch porn together...and then try out the moves. She says that it's so much fun!

I think we've established that they don't. And that sweeping generalizations are usually incorrect and somewhat biased. And stupid.

Yeah. Plus what about men with no internet access?

Men who live in impoverished nations?

Men who live in tribes in the Amazon rainforest and have never encountered modern man, until one day our "civilized" world will intrude on theirs, bringing our bright yellow bulldozers and chainsaws and Playboy magazines?

Men who are 102 years old and live in a nursing home and can't have pornography because the nurses steal it to read on their breaks?

Men who are asexual?

Men who live on other planets and reproduce through cellular divison?

The list goes on.
