Some VBers seem to favor authoritarian government. Just out of curiosity, what are your political beliefs? Take The World's Smallest Political Quiz and post your results. Please don't vote in the poll until you've taken the quiz, as many people who are libertarian don't know it.

I ended up dead center on the border between Libertarian and Centrist. No left and right... just dead center. Interesting that the quiz counts scores on the border as Centrist, when I tend to lean towards a more Libertarian view.

In any case, since border scores are counted as Centrist, that's how I answered this poll (even though I disagree).

Centrist

Hmmm, I used to consider myself conservative, overall. Though, I've been doing a lot of questioning, lately.

I'm centrist, which I expected, but I never thought I'd be more toward left liberal! I'm right on the border!

I am a communitarian anarchist.

Neither the test nor your poll was able to capture my views.

As for political surveys on the net, I prefer www.politicalcompass.org .

I got Centrist on Cougar one,

But I dont think I like that site.

Its hard to explain what I got on ebolas, but think dead on-the-line and to spaces off the left side.

(or: Economic Left/Right: -7.50

Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.21

Go to the site, it should then make sense.)

and I also think that is a better site.

I get a dot on the edge of centrist/left liberal and more towards libertarian than to Authoritarian.

On the second test I got :

Economic Left/Right: -6.75

Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.97

I like that one better than the first. My results for the first were Centrist, heading towards Authoritarian. That didn't seem right at all...

On the Political Compass one:

Economic Left/Right: -0.88

Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.92

I have traditionally always voted "right wing" (Canadian Alliance federally, Progressive Conservative provincially) so it shocking that this quiz consider me on the left economically. Canada is typically more "left" than the US or Britain so that's probably why.

My own appraisal is that economically I am fairly "right wing" and socially I am very against government interference.

On the political compass test, I got:

Economic Left/Right: -9.12

Libertarian/Authoritarian: -9.18

Believe it or not, last time I took the test, I was measured as being more leftist and more of a libertrarian. Of course, these scores are hardly suprising. I think the test does have several problems. Firstly, in the wording of the questions, there is a leftword bias. Also, some of the questions measure correlates rather than one's actual views.

I agree about the leftist bias, ebola, and about the fact that it makes you agree/diagree with an opinion (worded in an unobjective way) rather than , like you say, one's actual views.

Still, fun taking it. Apparently I'm quite a leftist one, not that that came as a shock.

Political compass pegged me entirely wrong. Not once, in my entire life, did I ever consider the democrats to be anything more than evil, yet somehow the geniuses who designed that [email protected]#%ing test manged to side me with those freedom-loathing, money-grubbing, resource-squandering, *$%#-%^@#ing, dim-witted, close-minded, selfish, totalitarian communist &#*$ !%@^. Yeah, I'm left. Do yourselves a favor: don't allow political compass to influence your voting in any capacity. I concur with everyone who thinks their test is skewed.

The World's Smallest Political Quiz placed me exactly where it should've: all the way in the very corner of the libertarian corner. This corner of corners is a safe place. It is as far away from the rest of the parties as one can get.
