Kurm turned me onto this thought-provoking short piece written by Neil Gaiman (art by Jouni Koponen, who apparently appropriated Gaiman's words without permission, though Gaiman was very cool about it).

I love it! Though I imagine some folks will think it goes too far. Way too far.

Oops, the site I read that on was wrong -- the artist did ask permission before posting it. Just to set the record straight. From Gaiman's blog: http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/20...hingly-ill.asp

I've seen this before. I thought it was quite clever.

Good stuff! I think I've seen this somewhere before, too.

I no longer post here after VB was sold in 2012. (See my profile page for details.)

Very thought provoking indeed. Will be passing on this link to everyone I know. Thanks for posting this Borealis, and thanks to Kurm (if he ever gets to read this) for the original inspiration for this post. *Waving to Kurm.*

Maybe if I was a meat-eater I would've found that thought-provoking.

I figured it was largely preaching to the choir, Astro

But I expected at least a few folks would think it "sends the wrong message" about vegetarianism, or some such thing.

It reminds me of Jonathan swift's "a modest proposal"
