Animal rights group to go ahead with Holocaust adverts

An animal rights group says it will go ahead with an advertising campaign that likens the slaughter of animals to the murder of Jews under the Nazis despite threats of a legal challenge.

Paul Spiegel, president of the Central Council of Jews, said he would ask for charges of "inciting racial hatred" against vegetarian group People for Ethical Treatment of Animals for the adverts, called "Holocaust on a plate".

Campaign co-ordinator Matt Prescott said he was aware of the council's views, but added: "We are not willing to end the campaign."

He said he was himself a Jew.

The posters show battery hens next to pictures of emaciated concentration camp inmates.

So what do you think of this?

Questioning speciesism sure is about inciting racial hatred.

Bizarre. I can think of various reasons why one could argue against such a campaign (though personally I'm not against it) but I don't see how it could be accused of inciting racial hatred.

Here's an unlocked thread with over 80 messages addressing exactly the subject you're referring to... your parenthetical comments aside, this has been talked about over and over and over again. Without even being locked.

Jim- Please be careful giving 1vegan facts. He has written permission from his doctors to avoid them at all costs.
