The question was asked. There was no answer. Maybe some lies, or wriggling from people who had convenient definitions of what porn was. Lots of arguing.

Anyway, a fellow skeptic on Fecebook brought this to my attention:

All men watch porn, scientists find

Scientists at the University of Montreal launched a search for men who had never looked at pornography - but couldn't find any.

By Jonathan Liew

Published: 1:22PM GMT 02 Dec 2009

Researchers were conducting a study comparing the views of men in their 20s who had never been exposed to pornography with regular users.

But their project stumbled at the first hurdle when they failed to find a single man who had not been seen it.

“We started our research seeking men in their 20s who had never consumed pornography,” said Professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse. “We couldn't find any.”

Like we needed a study to know the answer.

I would hardly find a study of 20 to be conclusive results.

Who needs sleep when we've got love?
Who needs keys when we've got clubs?
Who needs please when we've got guns?
Who needs peace when we've gone above?

Yup, lame study. I'm a normal healthy male, and none of the findings apply to me.

You've never watched porn Kona!? If'n you ain't the grandaddy of all liars!

I salute all of you for being sharp-eyed enough to spot that absurdly small sample size. At least when motivated, critical think skills do reveal themselves! Of course, we're only seeing the media's reporting. Actual studies often bear little resemblance to what the media reports, sadly. This was really a lame effort (probably by some stoned grad student) if accurately reported.

I've heard the women of Montreal rawk. If you can get past all the anti-English crap.

Well, do they mean never have been exposed to it? It's kind of hard to avoid when you're on the internet. There is a difference between being exposed to something and actively seeking it.

Wow. I bet Kibbleforlola and LyricGaia are pleased as punch that they have risen to the occasion and have earned the privilege of basking in the warm glow of your approval.

I, however, am despondent that I didn't get to this thread fast enough to be included in your praise. (Assuming that I would even have been enough on the ball to spot the sample size. I, like the rest of the peons, am not very good at critical thinking.)

In other news, human baldness was discovered to be an urban legend, after 20 people from the street were all found to have hair on their head.

Yup. Kinda like that jerk I used to work with who, instead of admitting he didn't know how to do something, would ask me to show him step by step, to 'prove to him I knew what I was doing'.

I never watch critical thinking...well maybe once in a while....but I try to hide it from others....it doesn't interfere with my relationships, honest!

Yes, I have watched porn. In many forms. Movies, Magazines (remember those), the internet, "nudy bars", you name a method of viewing porn, I've done it.

No wiggle room there. Satisfied?

I've viewed porn ever since I was a young boy in the 70's and discovered my dad's secret stash of Hustler magazines in the basement (gimme the pink!). The internet has simply made it much more accessible. I certainly can't extrapolate my experiences to all men, but I've never had a single male friend who has not viewed porn in some fashion.

I've never seen the guy I'm dating at the moment actually watch any porn, but as long as it wasn't really offensive stuff, I wouldn't be bothered if he did. What would bother me is if he turned out to be one of those saddo jock types who is ultra proud of his porn watching and has to over-state the point about how much he likes it knowing that it is going to annoy some people, (particularly women) who are offended by it.

Hasnt this been posted before?

How come I love reading other people's witty signatures, but can never seem to make an awesome one for myself?! Life is hilariously cruel.

The title is a bit misleading if I understand the study correctly. It should really be, "All men have watched porn at least once" (Or technically "All 20 college men we sampled have watched porn at least once.")
