Not necessarily now, or in the close future, but at some time, do you want to die?

You got this from Slayer.

With a family now, I do not. The thought of my wife dying has recently scared and saddened me very much. When i was younger, dying wasn't such a big deal. Now, it's changed.

It's a part of life, so i accept it. Much later, but i do accept it.

Same with me. It's a totally different thing when there are no strings attached, by strings, I mean people who we love and who love us. I'm not afraid of it for me, I don't want to leave big holes in my family's hearts and I want to enjoy them for as long as I can.

As a healthy happy person, no.

If I was terminally ill, suffering everyday with no hope, yes.

If I was elderly and had a good life, I would accept it is coming.

If I was elderly, crippled, and had nothing in life, then yes.

So really...it depends on a person's circumstances, however, I don't think anyone would post their suicidal ideation on a vegetarian message board in a thread that is focused upon one broad, informal, and simple question.

No, no. I think youre the only one that has said they want to die (at some point). I find that interesting, and i was just wondering where that is coming from.

If you dont want to elaborate here, you could pm me if youre happy to.

Oh, okay. I didn't realize I was the only one.

I think at some point in old-age, a person may have lost their closest companions, may feel weaker, and may die of natural causes and accept that it is "their time." I think I'll be able to accept that time when it comes. We already know death is inevitable. A healthy attitude towards it might help the transition. ?

I definitely don't want to live forever. Look how hard it is to even communicate to someone on a message board or have a good/positive conversation without problems. At some point, I think people are like, "I've had enough of this crap."

Not really, but alas, a little bit of me does every time I read one of your happy-go-lucky posts.

yes. I have no interest in living forever. I'm not yet 30 so, i hope it's not for a long time yet. I think knowing that you will die eventually is liberating in way and can motivate you to get things done in life. If i thought i was going to live forever, I think i'd be even more of a procrastinator.

I know that I will and I've accepted that fact. It's a natural part of life.

Having accepted my own mortality, I am then free to focus on living my life.

As the saying goes "Be happy for this moment. For this moment is your life!"

Right now, yes, but at some point I'll go through a phase of being absolutely terrified of death and wanting to live forever. Those don't usually last for more than a few months.
