If you could move anywhere in the world where would you go?

Why?

Have you been there before?

What would you do there to fill your days?

cstadt 07-18-2008 08:10 AM

I wouldn't know where to move, but I know where I'd visit to see if I'd like to move there

Switzerland, Anywhere

Czech Republic, Prague... not safe? not sure. but so beautiful...

Canada, Toronto maybe. There's a lot of cities I'd consider

Anywhere but the south. No more for me in a few years... ugh I can't wait to graduate

Christchurch/Wellington, New Zealand

Vancouver, Canada.

I'm... so speechless. How ever did you find this place? Congratulations! What an amazing community. I'm sure you'll be very happy here. I know I would

I'd like to live in Asheville, NC for a few years. It's about 6 hours away from here, where all my friends and family are.

Our true goal is to live somewhere in the mountains, in something sustainable, on about 20 acres. We've been planning and looking at properties and locations for years. When we sell our current house (which isn't even on the market yet) we'll be much closer to our dream home

sybaritik 07-18-2008 01:13 PM

I've seen a lot of the world and I'm staying right here in Oz thanks

Smurfbabe 07-19-2008 01:07 PM

I've always fancied the idea of living in Bath or Cornwell in the UK. My guess is I'll end up back in Australia though - maybe Melbourne this time. Perth is amazing but not quite as exciting as the East Coast.

synergy 07-19-2008 01:33 PM

I would move to:

Vancouver, Canada

San Fransisco, USA

New York, USA [If I had boatloads of $$$]

Paris, France

or...

Jamaica, but only with my man.

megbot 07-19-2008 03:51 PM

I'd move to the other side of the river. There's more farmland and less commercialism over there. My two veg restaurants are also over there.

I love the mid Hudson. There's many places I'd like to visit, but not live

fadeaway1289 07-19-2008 07:52 PM

I want to live in a vegan friendly town, with cool ass, caring, respectful, warm hearted, non violent people that are open minded and not judgemental about anything at all. No gossiping, no putting down of others due to race, gender, sexuality, lifestyle choices, personal style, income, etc. Does such place exist?

Tempeh-Tantrums 07-19-2008 07:59 PM

Portland or Eugene, Oregon. Somewhere more rural than I am now so I could have a bigger garden and fuzzy farm critters and a little land for them (and me) to enjoy.

Turtledarling 07-19-2008 08:39 PM

I haven't visited any of these places but I'd like to visit them and see if it would be as nice to live there as I imagine it would be:

Seattle-USA

San Francisco-USA

Portland, Oregon-USA

Vancouver,BC-Canada

Switzerland-I'm not sure where in specifically

UK-I'm not sure where in specifically here either

Sweden-Also not sure where in

rainforests1 07-21-2008 08:22 AM

Two of my goals in life are to see the Amazon and see the pyramids in Egypt. I'm not sure if I'd want to live in either places though, so I'm not sure how to answer that.

MrFalafel 07-21-2008 08:31 AM

I'm currently trying to find suitable short term work in the Middle East or India. Not easy!

If I was retired with a good income I'd buy a little little place in the Orkney Islands, just outside of Stromness. Beautiful place. http://www.orkneyjar.com/portfolio/scenes/st/index.html

Eek 07-21-2008 09:05 AM

I'd move back to Vancouver.

Why: I miss it so much. I have family there too. I hate where i am living, it is podunky, dry and dirty

Brandon 07-21-2008 09:24 AM

Someplace that's warm and relatively peaceful, preferably with nice scenery.

The rest is largely just details.

Kenickie 07-21-2008 10:44 AM

those are all new orleans sister cities. a silly term, i guess, but it's cool that there are that many cities that are so similar to NOLA.

Teresa 07-21-2008 09:48 PM

I'd live someplace on the coast of California. Not however my hometown of Santa Cruz. I'm cooking in this valley. I'd love to smell and feel the fog again. That's my kind of weather.

theatrelife101 07-22-2008 08:40 PM

France. I have always dreamed of living there. Maybe England too, just to acquire the most amazing accent in the world lol.

Marie 07-22-2008 08:55 PM

I'd move back to New England.

Kill Uncle 07-22-2008 08:58 PM

It used to be England because of the music scene, but now I would want to live in a hot climate and as close to the ocean as possible.

MOMO17 07-23-2008 01:36 PM

JAPAN!!!, Hirosaki, Sendai, or somewhere in the north. maybe tokyo...maybe.

Iceland, probably Reykjavik(hot springs!!!)

New Zealand, anywhere on the northern island.

the UK, somewhere in the country, near Stonehenge in england maybe.

Netherlands, anywhere.

Skylark 07-23-2008 01:42 PM

Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia

Nebaj, Guatemala

I do plan to live in at least one of the above, but I have to save up money first before I can afford the move.
