Ok, it's a little late I know, what with Halloween right around the corner, but I remembered this morning that someone started a thread at the beginning of summer to see what everyone had planned. I wanted to follow up to see if any of us got close to doing what we set out to do.

I planned to fall in love this summer....didn't exactly hit that one.

I planned to go to a Dead show. Actually exceeded the goal there, got to see 4 - mini summer tour.

Anyone else?

Put in a pool, lots of fun in the backyard. Traveled back to see our families in Peoria, IL area. Took my boy to about 20 Royals games. Vacationed for a couple of weeks in San Antonio and the beaches of South Padre, Island.....AND CAME HOME WITH AN EXTRA SOUVENEIR!!

Planned on spending 8 weeks in Africa (vacationing, learning, thrill seeking).

Did.

I worked as a construction worker digging ditches before starting grad school.

It was a tough job. I was the only woman on the site.

We also took a trip to the Grand Canyon, which was a lot of fun. It rained quite a bit while we were out there. Espically when we were camping in Sedona.

Went to Hotlanta to hang out with bunches of other veg*n freaks!

Went to Summerfest in Milwaukee, but didn't get to hook up with Slynny or Flower or any others in the area b/c the bf and I were on grandma death watch and expected at any moment to have to hop in the car and head back home, so I didn't feel comfortable making plans that I potentially would have had to back out of at the last minute.

Celebrated my last ever birthday. From here on out, I will be celebrating the anniversaries of my 29th birthday.

Drank lots of martinis, G & Ts, and beer.

Did NOT come home with any KCKid-type souvenirs, which is a very, very good thing.

I wanted to get a summer placement with an engineering company to get work experience. I did, and now they're paying me £1500 during my final year at uni!

I worked at an enrichment day camp for gifted children teaching art. Every summer I work there it reminds me more and more why I'm not meant to be a teacher. Loads of respect to anyone who is!
