With the upcoming election (in the U.S),

Do you think it's a good idea to make a separate forum for it?

The Election Forum

(for a polite debate on politics)

I'm not sure US elections warrant a forum all of thier own. There are a lot of nationalities on these boards. How about a politics forum, for the polite debate of all politics? World and local? I think that would be cool.

Politics is a very interesting subject, and even though we are almost all veg*ns of one sort or another, I'm sure our politics would vary widely. I'd love to debate politics with you guys, but quite frankly, I'm only passingly interested in the US elections. It seems quite a limited subject.

Love the post? Why not buy the T-shirt!

I agree with Kiz. Many of us are not American. Why be American-centric and create a forum for US elections and not other countries' elections? One general political forum would be fine.

This is an interesting idea, although I don't see why we'd have either one before a SPORTS AND RECREATION FORUM!!!!

Anywho

Indeed, many of our clan members are not in the US but let's face, what single election has anywhere near the global impact of the election of the President of the United States of America? I'm the last person to have an america-centric world view, but this country IS the only superpower, and the election of its leader has far-reaching global ramifications. I, for one, would support an "Election 2004" forum in order to capture the national and international viewpoints on this important event.
