Skylark 02-11-2003 07:26 PM

I was rereading some old threads today, and I came across "Getting to know you too". We have so many people here now who weren't around then to experience the fun we had in that thread, so how about another round of questions and answers? Since mikie and kerouac are both back with us, I'm expect they'll enjoy it.

To play, you answer the last question posed and then ask one of your own. I start with the first question. The questions can be about ANYTHING. Yes, I mean that. Go read "Getting to know you" if you don't believe me.

Did you get a kick out of "Getting to know you", or do you think you would have if you had been around here then?

RedStarJedi 02-11-2003 08:01 PM

I know I did. There were times I wanted to answer but couldn't for the life of me think of another question though.

Do you have a favorite piece of clothing and what it it?

I know that's kinda two but they are related and the first would be to easy since a simple yes or no could suffice.

GhostUser 02-11-2003 08:02 PM

i probably would have liked the getting to know you thread a lot. i am always curious about what other people think...even when i don't agree. okay, a question: what is your very earliest memory??

GhostUser 02-11-2003 08:04 PM

simultaneous posting, good gawd...my favorite piece of clothing is a ratty old thermal shirt. it was given to me in trade about 20 years ago by my, at the time, best friend ever, it is raspberry colored soft as can be and FILLED with holes. i try not to let that dissuade me. i just wear it under stuff now. my previous question stands, what is your earliest memory?

RedStarJedi 02-11-2003 08:09 PM

I remember my uncle Larry taking ne on a ride on his moped up and down the street where we lived. My mom was sooo pissed ah him because I was 4 or 5 and her didn't have me wear a helmet.

Do you have a favorite song and who's it by?

VealPrincess 02-11-2003 08:23 PM

i don't really have a favourite song, cause i always seem to like so many and it depends on my mood!

my question: if Bob Marley didn't shoot the deputy, who did?

RedStarJedi 02-11-2003 08:29 PM

Probably the sheriff when he was trying to shoot Bob.

WHat kind of stuffed animal did you have as a kid?

Kreeli 02-11-2003 08:54 PM

my favourite stuffy was "PJ", a GUND teddy bear. i took him everywhere. my kids play with him now. he's 22 years old and still in great shape!

what is your favourite form of exercise?

RedStarJedi 02-11-2003 08:58 PM

Running by far. I can run for an hour and get in that place where I don;t wanna stop even though I know I should or my bad knee will start acting up.

Favorite berverage (alcoholic or not)

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:04 PM

My favorite drink, aside from water, would be a virgin peach daquiri. I've only had a couple in my life but sooooooooo good.

Who has your favorite avatar here? Can't be you.

ceryna 02-11-2003 09:19 PM

My favorite avatar here is Robert's.

What is your favorite movie?

Funkified 02-11-2003 09:23 PM

my favorite movie is Boondock Saints.

uh...uh...besides utilizing the facility, what's the first thing you do in the morning.

Robert 02-11-2003 09:24 PM

Thanks

Fav movie is probably The Deerhunter, or perhaps Pulp Fiction.

What's your biggest pet peeve?

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:28 PM

My biggest pet peeve right now is having so many academic databases not turn any results for my research. Arg!

And besides using the facilities, one of my first morning activities is peering into my closet, sorting through a basket of clean clothes, and poking in my drawers to see what I really want to wear. It was easy today, though.

What is the strangest outfit you'd wear?

Robert 02-11-2003 09:29 PM

My grandfather's immigration papers when he visited "Upper Canada" prior to Newfoundland entering Confederation in the late 1940's.

Favorite type of leisure activity?

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:31 PM

VEGGIEBOARDS IS MY FAVORITE LEISURE ACTIVITY!

My previous question still stands.

Kreeli 02-11-2003 09:34 PM

i'd wear a skin tight PVC mini-dress and thigh-high PVC boots. woot!

how do you see yourself dying?

Robert 02-11-2003 09:37 PM

Send me some pics

I see myself dying in my sleep, and hopefully not of old age.

Would you ever go nude in public?

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:38 PM

Quickly and painlessly.

How many times do you hit your alarm clock before getting up in the morning?

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:39 PM

errr... no I would not go nude in public, even if it were quick and painless.

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:42 PM

I have an innie.

What do you find works best for moisturizing dry elbows?

GhostUser 02-11-2003 09:47 PM

Baby Oil

For the old-tymers: A long long burning question of mine. Just what was being thrown off the bridge in the song by Bobbie Gentry "Ode to Billy Joe" ?

Robert 02-11-2003 09:52 PM

Billy Joe threw himself off as far as I can recall.

The day Billy Joe MacAllister jumped off the Tallahachee bridge

What's in your CD player right now?

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:54 PM

Salvador's live CD.

What sound freaks out you out more than any other sound?

ceryna 02-11-2003 09:55 PM

A CD of Hamasaki Ayumi remixes.

What is your greatest fear?

Oops, looks like Skylark and I were posting at the same time. Sorry. ^^;;

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:56 PM

Tea, if I must. I detest coffee.

See existing question.

ceryna 02-11-2003 09:57 PM

Augh. I am a moron. >_<

Skylark 02-11-2003 09:59 PM

Ceryna,

No you're not a moron. We just didn't know the other was posting. It happened ALL the time in "Getting to know you too" too. The confusion can make it more fun.

Funkified 02-11-2003 09:59 PM

i'll answer the strangest outfit question - funky ass tights with a jean skirt and big red socks and combat boots with orange laces and whatever top that makes my boobies (i said boobies) look big and dangerous. and my signature hat of course.

i've gone nude in public a couple times..not compelety. and some times not intentionally but there was some issues with my articles of clothing i was wearing on top. hm.

i have an innie button of the belly.

fave leisure activity - pushups. heh heh.

alarm clock - i hit the snooze button way too much to admit.

TEA! not even a question, man.

what? i'm not supposed to answer all the questions? tough luck.

how do you feel about the wall street journal?

Skylark 02-11-2003 10:01 PM

The Wall Street Journal looks like an old-persons newspaper. Not very many pictures and the columns are four across, not five. I prefer five.

What's your favorite news source?

Skylark 02-11-2003 10:12 PM

Right now I am sort of subscribed to Reader's Digest and Vegetarian Times through my grandparents. They give me the issues when they're done with them.

Do you recycle? What sorts of things are recyclable in your area?

Robert 02-11-2003 10:20 PM

MsRuthieB... I found a site which explains that Bobby Lee's imaginary friend Benjamin is a cowboy doll and that's what Billy Joe tossed off the bridge:

http://www.countrystandardtime.com/movies2FEATURE.html

Who knows though.

Skylark: we recycle, yes. Here we can recycle bottles, tin, cans, plastic, paper, etc.

Question: Do your SO's parents drive you up the wall?

mushroom 02-11-2003 10:23 PM

RuthieB, I saw the movie and from what I remember, what they threw off was thought to be a baby (by the townsfolk)...I think it was a doll and the reason that he jumped off the bridge was because he was gay or thought he was gay...no baby.

Skylark 02-11-2003 10:59 PM

My (ex) SO's parents both did and didn't drive me up the wall. His mother was wonderful; a real gem. However, I wasn't too crazy about his dad walking out on the family when my (ex) SO was in preschool and having only the barest contact with them since then.

How much do you want your parents and/or SO's parents involved in the planning/decision-making/organizing of your wedding? Can be future-wish or hindsight.

Kreeli 02-11-2003 11:10 PM

we started of with medium-sized wedding plans, which were quickly hijacked by various family members.

so we eloped.
