Come on, I know you 90s kids are out there.

---

You remember ending your sentences with the word "PSYCHE!"/"SIKE!"

Your parents made you cover your eyes during parts of the Titanic.

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air."

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House."

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps" and actually being scared.

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off."

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

You always wanted to know where in the world is Carmen San Diego and dreamed about being on the game show.

You spend hours playing Super Nintendo games.

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell."

You played and/or collected "Pogs."

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out and used to cry.

You used to wear those stick-on earrings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You traded Pokemon cards.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain would finally take over the world

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.

You remember when razor scooters were cool.

You miss the times when you could get away with putting off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

You had or wanted a pair of light-up sneakers.

You cried your heart out when Mufasa died in the Lion King.

You thought Capri Sun was the best drink ever.

You never, EVER missed Snick.

misq17 02-18-2007 10:13 AM

27/32, pretty respectable.

GhostUser 02-18-2007 10:19 AM

You mean razor scooters aren't cool any more? Damn.

evan_fabiani 02-18-2007 10:33 AM

hahaha this is good.

Iria 02-18-2007 10:36 AM

I still play Super-Nintendo. I was so glad when Nintendo DS Lite came out because I could finally play a two-dimensional video game again. I never got the hang of being able to move in any direction.

I loved my electronic pets. I don't know how many I had--a lot. I had a kitty Giga Pet, a tamagotchi, and a generic alien pet, which was actually my favorite. And I have the tamagotchi board game, a tamagotchi plushie, and a tamagotchi parody book. It was a sad day when they were banned at school. A few of my friends actually set their pets' clocks twelve hours back so they would sleep during the day and they could take care of them at night.

Anyone remember the Pretty Pretty Princess board game? My little brother actually used to play that with me.

GhostUser 02-18-2007 10:37 AM

I have to add one of my own for the girls:

You remember going "glitter crazy" and putting it all over your face because you thought it looked cute.

Iria 02-18-2007 10:38 AM

Glitter! I kind of miss those days. Everything was sparkly.

GhostUser 02-18-2007 10:39 AM

Iria: Yes! I loved the princess game. And I got upset when they banned Pokemon cards from my school...

I used to have these little tubes of pastel- and neon-colored body glitter. I would put huge globs of it on my temples, my cheeks, and my nose. I can't believe I would do that.

Iria 02-18-2007 10:42 AM

I just remembered an article I read in Girl's Life about tamagotchis. It sounded like a joke, but I think it was real. Someone actually started a business baby-sitting tamagotchis while people were at school or on vacation.

Girl's Life is another fond memory of my childhood, but I think it's still around.

katt 02-18-2007 10:42 AM

FURBIES! 'nuff said.

I remember being in second grade and having kids bring them to school--drove the teachers crazy.

GhostUser 02-18-2007 10:43 AM

glitter? i still indulge a bit to this day

Do you have pictures?

I think I have at least one embarassing 90's picture of me here. Maybe I'll post it.

Oh gosh, probably. I'll have to search around a bit.. I probably buried that in the closet.

kali: I hope you don't go overboard like I did.

katt: I always wanted a Furbie (Furby?) but never got one!

Iria 02-18-2007 10:50 AM

We had a baby furby. It didn't last long. That thing was annoying.

nori_roll 02-18-2007 10:58 AM

Haha, this was great

blind 02-18-2007 11:17 AM

Reading this was a horrific walk through my childhood. xD

Pirate Ferret 02-18-2007 11:31 AM

i was born in 1986, perfect timing to have my whole influential childhood in the 90s!

awwww ye olde days.

misq17 02-18-2007 11:36 AM

Adding on jellies and bike shorts to the list. You know you had them!

My jellies were clear purple and glittery

KC_VeganVixen 02-18-2007 11:39 AM

I was born in '87, and I can relate to every item on that list.

Iria 02-18-2007 11:39 AM

What are jellies? I'm sure they were around in Ohio, but I've never heard that word used before reading these threads.

These are jellies http://www.vintageblues.com/the80s/jellies.jpg

Iria 02-18-2007 11:44 AM

Thanks. I never had any of those, although I recognize that material from some of my toys. I guess that didn't catch on in NE Ohio.

HandcuffedAngel 02-18-2007 12:08 PM

I got 27.

WonderRandy 02-18-2007 12:35 PM

Hmmmm I'm beginning to wonder about the people who make these lists.... a lot of the stuff in this list is from the 80s. In fact a lot of the stuff on this list is ON THE 80s LIST......

Oh well, it's still fun...

*hums the "pinky and the brain" theme song as he wanders off*

Yeah, it is the same with all the threads - some 60s stuff on the 70s - 70s on the 80s etc.

Jellies actually came out in the eighties - I think I remember little girls wearing them in the 90s but older girls had stopped wearing them in the 90s. But I was 'old' in the nineties so I remember grunge and guys shaving lines in their heads (mostly remember this because I was a hairdresser I had to shave in those dang lines - I thought they were so dumb!)

What is this "Oregeon Trail' thing on the computers that everyone is talking about? We had no computer in our school except in HS - the only computer was in the principals office!

We played this in 85/86 & the images in the link above are the first time I've seen it in color, heh. We played it on our Apple II's in the library - we had 4 in a special room and you had to be in 4th grade or above to be able to use them, and you had to attend a special training class to get a computer card. My how times change.
