I made myself a blueberry, strawberry, orange smoothie and was really enjoying it although there were some chewy bits. I just assumed that I hadn't left it in the blender long enough. Then, 3/4 ways through the smoothie, I started to realize that the chewy bits were not chewable. I had been just chewing a bit absentmindly and swallowing. So, I spat a piece out into my hand, and, well, I think it's plastic. It's clearish--though purple from the blueberries. It stretches. I'm not sure how much of this I've had or where it came from. The strawberries and oranges were fresh. Blueberries were frozen. I've made smoothies with all of these fruits before and I can't remember if I had chewy parts then. Any chance this is from the fruit and not actually plastic? And if it is plastic, am I going to be sick?
