I can't induce sleep while cuddling...which works out okay, because I also have muscle spasms in my sleep.

I do have a fan. I also have two computers and a big TV.
My room gets really hot, and I can't have air conditioning because of the types of windows I have. Really won't be an issue for a long time, though.

Been married 44 years. Cuddling time is unlimited if you’re awake. If it’s bedtime, I need my own bed and, preferably, my own room. 
In all seriousness, between the chronic pain and sleeplessness of old age, a partner who snores like a jackhammer, four cats who have mastered the art of torture, I really need my space. Sorry not sorry. 🙂
