It depends on what I'm spooning - or who I'm spooning with.

Yes, it's nice to snuggle that way, but I'm too much of a restless sleeper to spend the whole night in that position. Also, I tend to get overheated easily.

But it's a good way to be close for awhile.

We see the world as "we" are, not as "it" is; because it is the "I" behind the "eye" that does the seeing.

Yes, I am! It's very cozy, comforting and warm. Except I currently like to be the one behind.

And despite the fact that I'm 5 feet tall, I insist on being the big spoon.

I move around a lot when I'm trying to fall asleep, so I usually cannot sleep in that position. I still enjoy it, though.

What Ceryna and Blueskies said. Nice for a while but back off when I'm trying to fall asleep!

I haven't slept with anyone in long enough to 'know' what I like anymore... and I think you have different comfort levels depending on how the other person sleeps as well... while I'm awake, and just drifting off though? Yeah... definitely...

I like cuddling in all permutations and combinations, and spoons is? are? one of those. Where's P>C when you need him?

Here! You could say, "spooning is an example of one of those," or "spoons are examples of those."

But do you know the difference between a permutation and a combination?

I have heard the terms before. From what I remember about them, combinations are probability questions that involve combination of data, while a permutation is a representation of something in probability. I have not actually studied them in school yet, though, so my definitions are almost certainly incorrect-they are just guesses based on my scant knowledge of these things.

Oh, sorry, spooning is when you lie on your sides, facing the same direction, back-to-front, as in your chest is on the other person's back or vice versa. Your knees are usually bent, you can intensify the "spoon" with the arm-cuddle or bending your knees more.

ETA: Both parties in the spoonage [for our purposes the Little Spoon shall be Gamma Spoon and the Big Spoon shall be Alpha Spoon] get their own special spoon benefits.

Do any straight boys enjoy being Gamma Spoon to a shorter girl's Alpha Spoon? I have to turn my head or their spines hit my nose. Also there is the leg issue.

Think of cards. The permutations of 5 cards chosen from a deck are the number of possible hands of 5 cards you can draw where the order is important. So drawing all four aces and then the king of hearts is considered a different hand than drawing the king of hearts and then all four aces. Permutations are easy to calculate but IME don't come up in practice much.

The combinations of 5 cards chose from a deck are the possible hands you can draw up to isomorphism. IOW we don't care about the order, a royal flush in hearts is the same hand no matter which order the cards come out in.
